About this mod

A high resolution (4096x4096 px) N7 themed carbon fiber armor for Liara that replaces her white "Stormtrooper" alternate armor in ME3.

DESCRIPTION

This mod replaces Liara's alternate white armor with a custom-themed N7 version replete with carbon fiber.  There are three types of carbon fiber used on the armor and it includes the N7 emblem on the front.  This package includes the diffuse, spec, and normal textures in high resolution (4096x4096 px) so this is memory-intensive but very high quality.  Squad selection images are also included but they are at the default resolution.  I've also added a small Shadow Broker emblem on the back of Liara's left hand.

Additionally, there is an optional file that will replace Liara's Crest Brace Breather with a custom N7 theme to match the main armor.  This file is totally optional and requires some additional work to install (see below).

Now Liara can finally match her favorite Commander in battle!

Incidentally, I am aware that the N7 program is a Systems Alliance program and therefore not available to Asari normally.  But Liara is the Shadow Broker and I'm rather sure one secure comm channel to the Alliance provisions officer from Shepard would get him whatever he wants :).

INSTALLATION

Attention: First Time Modders
If you're new to modding ME3 please use these resources to help you set up everything correctly:

MAIN FILE
You can either include this file in your TexMod loadout when launching the game or install it via ME3 Explorer.  Keep in mind that if you've modified the base armor for this mod (the original one in BioH_Liara_01.pcc and BioH_Liara_01_Explore.pcc) then you cannot use TexMod without changing the hashes.  However you can always install this mod via TPF/DDS Tools or Texplorer in ME3 Explorer regardless of what you've installed prior.

OPTIONAL - CREST BRACE BREATHER
If you're using TexMod then just use the included .TPF file as normal.  The new breather will appear on all of Liara's outfits but that is unavoidable when using TexMod.

As for installing permanently via ME3 Explorer, remember that if you install the .TPF file directly it will apply to ALL Liara's outfits and not just the N7 Carbon Fiber armor.  However, if you want to install the modded files selectively to only Liara's N7 Carbon Fiber Armor then follow the instructions below and use the provided .MOD file.  It was created with the 109k version on SourceForge (rev653).  Make sure to backup your files!

Note: Please only use the latest stable SourceForge version of ME3 Explorer as the subversion versions are meant more for developers and testers.

Install instructions for the Crest Brace Breather .MOD file:
  • Open ME3 Explorer
  • Click on Tools on the top menu
  • Click on Mod Maker.  If there are any Jobs in the window then Clear them out by clicking on File then Clear Jobs.
  • Click on File on the right side of the top menu and then Load Jobs
  • Navigate your file structure to the correct .MOD file and load it. You should see three lines appear starting with "Upscale (..."
  • Now click on Run on the right side of the top menu and then Select PCCs
  • Click on Run again and verify that there is a check mark next to Select PCCs
  • Click on Run and then on Run All.  You will see a prompt with PCC files soon.
  • For each of the three prompts, select only the following PCC files: "BioH_Liara_01.pcc" and "BioH_Liara_01_Explore.pcc"
  • After all prompts are done the Mod Maker will take a few minutes to update the TOC and then tell you that all mods were installed successfully. Done!
  • Verify in-game that the new breather only appears when the N7 Carbon Fiber armor is in use.

This mod is only compatible with Mass Effect 3.

1.0: Initial version

TO DO

These are things I may do in the future if I have time and interest.

1. Fix distortions in CF mesh
2. Rescale some of the CF to be more size consistent
