  • Taina's Replacer for KotOR and TSL for Knights of the Old Republic II

It's difficult, if not outright impossible, to actually review applications made by the community to help in the process of modding; almost always they are unique and there is very little to allow comparison or a frame of reference. This is certainly true of this programme, and as such, it is not intended to attempt to analyse its good and bad points here. This programme was originally released on PCGameMods, and the author has been generous enough to re-release it here.

Taina's Replacer Tool is an invaluable asset for many modelers in the KotOR community, and one of the more unique tools around. The tool allows the user to edit an replace vert co-ordinates on the model, while retaining the animations associated with it. This allows for a certain degree of editing of the model, such as in the few head model adjustments that you can see on the site.. The instructions for use can be found in the readme, which is both attached with the programme, and to be found below. It is advised to read them: the process involved is complex, and requires attentive following of the instructions provided.

NB: Please leave constructive criticism, particularly if you download and use this mod, as the download-counter isn't very informative.

  • Call of Aid (TSL) for Knights of the Old Republic II

Sometimes if you twist someones arm enough like how Scut Farkus would do to Ralphies friends Flick or Schwartz, you may be able to get them to do your bidding. Maybe you could whine enough like Ralphies brother Randy to get what you want too. Ive seen the numerous requests for this mod Im reviewing for the game Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. Whatever it took to convince the author, the call has been answered.

Sekan has given in and gave the people what they wanted and that is a Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords version of his famous Call of Aid mod that he has released and updated for the first Knights of the Old Republic game. This is one of those moments where I swear I can hear the applause that will be given when news of this hits when reading the most recently mods to be put on this site.

To recap what youre going to get with this mod in case youre not familiar with the Knights of the Old Republic version; you have an armband that will spawn NPCs to help you in your battles when you need it. If youre on the light side, you get Republic soldiers and Jedi. If youre on the dark side, you get Sith soldiers and Dark Jedi. You even can call for aid from Mandalorians if you're neutral. Whats different about this version is that it takes advantage of the creating items at the workbench feature you get in TSL so you can spawn the armband for this mod there.

The TSL Patcher is used to install this mod to help out in putting in the necessary lines in the .2da files needed to make this mod work and able to be spawned at the workbench. Enjoy this for TSL!

Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future.

  • Call of Aid (TSL) (1.2) for Knights of the Old Republic II

As promised, here's the KotOR II version of Sekan's latest update for Call of Aid. The mod has become very popular in very little time, due to its attractive premise: the device allows you to spawn various NPCs that will help your player out if and when they get into a fight (and you know they will ).

The device sends out a message, summoning all friendly troops in the area. Which type of NPCs you get depends on your alignment--if you are light-sided, you get Republic soldiers and Jedi; if you are dark-sided, Sith soldiers and Dark Jedi will come to your aid; and if you are neutral, you will receive help from the Mandalorians. In order to get the device, you can either add it to your inventory with the cheat console or savegame editor, or just create it at a workbench.

In this update, Sekan has added the ability to order the NPCs to hold position or to follow the player, which was introduced in a previous update for KotOR I. Also included is the ability to choose which NPCs you spawn; for example, if you are light-sided, you can choose from a list of Republic soldiers, Republic officers, and Jedi Guardians, Sentinels, and Consulars. I'm sure these both will be well-received additions to the mod. The mod does use the TSL Patcher to ensure compatibility with other mods, so no worries there. Enjoy!

NOTE: Please leave comments/feedback for the author, especially if you download and use this mod; usually it's the only reward modders receive for their efforts.
