This mod aims to offer two things: Increase immersion without losing the novelty of the game, and secondly, offer some selection to the user in how they wish to enjoy Far Cry 3.

Note: THIS WILL NOT WORK ON PIRATED/TORRENT COPIES OF FAR CRY 3. PLEASE DON'T ASK FOR SUPPORT IF YOUR COPY IS NOT LEGAL. SUPPORT DEVELOPERS, AND BUY A COPY!

**I welcome feedback, and ideas to improve and/or expand this compilation

Pick and choose the combination of features "you" want. Every pack includes the Essentials
(see section below for the list of these.)


The Variants, are the mods you choose for your variation/combination. Each variant is assigned a letter:

A = Compass Minimap
B = No minimap
C = Alternate Compass hud
D = Gun Realism
E = Legit Guns
F = HD Textures

First, choose the minimap style/version you want (A, B, or C)
Second, choose the weapons mod you prefer (
D or E).
Lastly, decide whether or not youd like the HD textures.(
F)
**Be sure to review the "important note" (below) regarding the HD textures.

Once you choose which variants you prefer, head over to the files section, and simply look for version containing the 2-3 letter combination you want.

(for example: version 3.3CEF will include all essentials, the Alt. Compass hud, weapon variables according to Legit Guns, and the HD textures.)
Updates, hotfixes, etc will be applied following the decimal point. (v3.3CEF will get updated to v3.31CEF, so and so forth).
This will eliminate much of the confusion, and make it much easier for you great users to track, follow, and update!


The installation process is the same for all variations, so feel free try different versions until you find your preference. Detailed installation instructions are provided at the bottom of this page, as well as in the readme contained in the download archive.

Altered to be less intrusive. Every icon remains, but most are barely visible. The important ones are most visible. Reduced visibility of the health and armor bars as well.

GUN REALISM by panzerjager1943
V3 is a modified version of Gun Realism. Shotguns have been corrected with the attributes as outlined by "Legit Guns". AMR no longer has a silencer avail, however, SVD does. Other minor changes

-Adjusted effects of optics on recoil and ironsight sway for more realism (by default they reduced recoil etc.. now they don't)

Both are fantastic in their own right. Some users are looking for something specific for their weapons. If you're a new comer, either/or is fine. Personally, i think the realistic variables used in Legit Guns makes for more of challenge combat experience

STEP 3: Do You Want The HD Textures?

IMPORTANT NOTE The HD Textures have caused crashes for many users in Dx11. Packs containing these are for Dx9 users only

Bare in mind, this is DX9 ONLY!!!! If you've been using dx9, the setup is the same.


TEXTURES OVERVIEW:

"In brief this is what was altered between the textures that shipped with the game and my modification.
Over 20K+ seams were fixed. On average there were three seams per texture and that does not include the edge seams that appear when the texture is tiled (they were extra, and while most were also fixed, especially for high usage ones like landscape, not all were fixed). Ubisoft used a very aggressive draw distance so that anything more than 1m away from you would be of a lower resolution. That blurs out the hard edges of the seams and covers up the mess they made. I prefer to have my textures at full size for a heck of a lot longer than just 1m.
Textures were optimized (Diffuse, Specular, and Normal Maps) and Normalized. The first keeps them as small as possible without harming the overall
graphical experience, while the latter tries to keep them all the same size. Unfortunately the NPC skin textures are varied and in a bizarre twist, they used fully detailed models instead of using a standard morp-deformation system (which is why everyone is a clone on the island unless they are a 'special' person - e.g. Dennis). So if anyone wants to add something to this: the horrible skin for the common civilians, or the hair for just about
everyone would be a good addition.

Many textures (200+) were replaced with my own, especially the landscape. This was due to the originals either being of lower quality than their
counterparts, or having more than 15 center seams which required too much work to fix.

Even more textures (400+) were combined with my own, to keep the original look, but make them of a higher quality so that more of the game looks of
the same quality.

So overall, this make the game run smoother and look much better. You can turn your setting up or just enjoy the FPS gain, it is up to you." -4ACES

when player unlock an outpost a message ask him if he want to take control of this outpost ! !
If The player choose "Cancel" Rakyats are coming to defend it but you still in red zone !! Meaning that you still can make pirates encounters !!.
If you click "Ok" , the oupost behave just like normal , the camp turn into a safehouse fast travel point and you have acces to automatic shop and memory card ... BUT pirates are no longer spawning .
So choose wisely , because an outpost turned into a safehouse can't be pirate or merc owned again

-REMOVED FOG OF WAR
(the whole map is now visible, which makes sense since Jason grabs a map at the start of game) ( Tom.Solo )

-all weapons unlocked, except for Dragon Knife. (Being this weapon is detrimental to the story line, and very lore friendly, I did not want to break from that.)

- the distance pirates can hear noise has been more than tripled from vanilla. tread lightly in your approach
-INCREASED PIRATE TARGETING, SPOT DISTANCE AND TAGGING SPEED - Pirates will can now see you coming are a more realistic distance. They'll also get you in their targets much faster. This increases the challenge to more realistic variables
-NEW PIRATE OUTFITS/CAMMOS
- no longer will you see those obvious red or yellow outfits a mile away ( Inakrin )
-REMOVED CAMERA TAG & WALL HACK
- no longer tag enemies through cam, nor will they be visible through objects ( karmakgb / PandoraX357)

- the red icons across the top of the cam viewer felt very intrusive. Especially since camera tagging/wall hack has been removed. Icons removed completely

- If you simply do not want this mod included, install the appropriate DLL file when installing from the main pack. Or if you need to install to complete the "Ink Monster" mission

-REMOVED STEALTH INDICATORS
-NEW CORPSE LOOT ANIMATION

- This loot animation takes half as long to complete. Instead of the pat-down, Jason quickly reaches to the body and loots(find by x1_x4)

Each Archive contains 3 different DLL files to choose from for your mod choice (DLL readme included in download)- BE SURE TO INSTALL ONLY ONE!!

DLL File- Without EWH
Enhanced Weapon Holster is removed. Use this if:
- You don't like the effect of the mod, or
- You like having it, but need to disable it's effect temporarily in order to complete the mission
Ink Monster at the end of the first island that can't be completed because EWH prevents you from drawing your weapon. In this case, simply overwrite the DLLs currently installed with those contained in the misc file, complete the mission in game, exit- replace them with the original DLLs from the 30 Day comp pack your using, and off you go!!

Fog of War is reapplied
- Map will not be visible until radio towers are cleared
- There is a bug caused by the FoW removal, when viewing the lootpack items and scroll down, the borders are removed revealing the lower row items, normally out of view. This masks the item name and price. Nothing major, but may bug some of you.
-keep in mind, if you use this and also use the No minimap hud, mission areas will be visible during certain side missions. (the yellow territory area) Sorry, cant do anything about it. Must choose lesser of two evils.
