It's been a while, but this mod has been updated to include the new vanilla weapons from the DLCs. Thanks to rad666a's awesome work making this mod and explanation of what to edit, I was able to update this mod to include the DLC weapons. I then reached out to rad666a and offered to take care of the update.



This mod still does two things:

One: Automatic receivers now do the same damage as the semi-automatic at the same tier. In other words, a Hardened Automatic Receiver does the same damage per bullet as a the base Hardened Receiver. The same goes for the Armor Piercing and Powerful versions.

Two: The Submachine Gun now has a more reasonable base damage. Since a real Thompson Submachine Gun should be able to cut people in half, not mildly annoy them. I took a look at it and discovered something. Number one, it has a rather pathetic base damage of 13. For comparison, the pipe revolver that also uses the .45 round, has a base damage of 24. I also discovered that the receivers work the same way as the automatic receivers for all other weapons by imposing a damage penalty, even though it doesn't have a single semi-auto receiver. The net result is that the pathetic base damage of the SMG was reduced by another 25% by the base receiver NO MATTER WHAT. So I brought the receivers of the SMG inline with the rest of the mod, and increase the base damage of the weapon to 24, matching the pipe revolver. Try laughing off those Triggermen now.

At Mitsurugi2424's request, I also created a version that normalizes the energy weapon receivers damage. I don't agree with it (shorter energy pulses should do less damage per shot), but it was a simple addition and I am including it here as an optional file for those who want to try it out. The update with DLC DOES include the energy weapon fix as well

TL/DR: Strong think automatic receivers good now.

I also recommend Minigun Rebalance by Aestherus. It is a mod that adds receiver options to the minigun, an option that should have been part of the vanilla game.

A: I don't care. Don't use it. I don't, and I MADE it.

Q: Can you change this mod to do "X"
A: Probably not. I made this mod to do one thing, and it does that to my (and Mitsurugi2424's) satisfaction. That said, if your request fits with what this mod does, I will consider it.


What this mod DOES do

This mod changes the damage multipliers for the various automatic receivers and increases the base damage of the submachine gun.


What this mod DOES NOT do
--------------------------------------
This mod does not change base weapon damage, other than the submachine gun (which I see as more of a bug fix really).


Install
--------------------------------------
Add the "Consistent Weapon Damage.esp" (or "Consistent Weapon Damage Plus.esp" if you want the laser weapons version)to your Fallout 4 "Data" directory, usually found in "[Steam Install Directory]\SteamApps\common\Fallout 4\". Activate using the mod manager of your choice.


Uninstall

Deactivate the mod in the mod manager of your choice, then delete the "Consistent Weapon Damage.esp" (or "Consistent Weapon Damage Plus.esp") file in the Fallout 4 "Data" directory.


Future plans
--------------------------------------
The game seems to be missing tier four (Advanced, .308, etc) automatic receivers. So once the GECK comes out, or I really feel like figuring out how to do it with FO4Edit, I plan on adding them.


Final Thoughts

This mod is probably a bit unbalanced on the surface. But look at it this way: The bad guys get to try to kill YOU with these as well so, in my opinion, it balances out. According to Mitsurugi2424, three Gunners with automatic laser pistols "nearly cut his level 60 character in half".
