This is something i made for myself mostly but i'd thought i'd share it with everyone, i made this mod because i really liked the gas mask but it seemed useless to me since it seemed to only offer very little resistance to airborn toxins and also i hated switching to the Hazmat suit every time things got a little too "Toxic" and have to put on all my armor again after. it's nothing significant just a few tweaks to the normal "Gas Mask with Goggles" it is now black and it's just more rad resistant with a bit more armor.
here are the stats to it:
The In-game name is called "Improved Plated Gas Mask"
Rad Resistance: +1500
Defence: +10 (as the in-game name states it's "Plated" just gotta have a little imagination haha)
Installation:
Manual: after you have extracted the zip somewhere you should get a folder called "ImprovedGasmask"Drag all the contents of the ImprovedGasMask folder (Excluding the ReadMe.txt) into the Data folder with your Fallout
or you could use Nexus Mod Manager.
Make sure to tick the box for it too in Nexus mod manager
once your in-game you go into your console and type "help mask 4 armo" a list should come up displaying the masks in the game including "Improved Plated Gas Mask" with it's base id after you have the id type in Player.additem "the id" and "1" then press enter. you should have it added to your inventory after.
[Update: 2/3/2016] - Added an optional version that's a little more subtle than the Rad resistance of +1500 down to +500 which is still a significant improvement over the vanilla's "GasMask with Goggles" which is only +15
[Update: 2/8/2016] - Added Hat support to all the versions. (which means you can now wear a hat of your choice with the Gasmask now but there is bound to be some clipping depending on the hat.)
