Version 0.30

What is this?

Changelog:

V.030:     Fixed the Doorway-Collision as well as the 90 degree snap problem introduced by the previous version :(
in order to build a corner, either use short elements only or place the long element (doorway, cinderwall long) first!
The short parts will always fit, the long ones only if they are placed first, when connected in a 90 degree angle.

V.025:      Improved Collision Meshes thanks to the input from ad3d0, will prevent wall clipping.
V.02:Added doorway element.
V.02:The Cinderwall-Long element recieved additional snappoints for floor, and wallstacking.
V.02:Improved meshes that extend to the floor as well as overlap the corner.
V.01:Initial release, adds 2 Cinderwall elements to construction.

Known Bugs:
12.12.2022: Some people claim to have CTD using this mod. I tested it standalone and it works just fine.
Back in 2017, I ran it with 500+ mods, zero crashes, still have 100+ LP episodes on YT.
However, I haven't modded Fallout 4 since 2016 and I'm not up to date on developments. My guess is that
some major build-menu overhaul mod is changing things and this may cause issues. If you encounter issues
I suggest to inquire with building mod authors that are still active or drop it from your mod-list. I may look into
this at some later point but for now, thats all I can say.

Why?

I was kinda dissapointed with the selection of construction elements,
while several great modders like ad3d0 added assets to the game I was
still missing a proper lore friendly way to build realistic and
potentially save structures, you would actually sleep in. Turning the
concrete floor elements into so called walls with a texture replacer is
not doing the trick, so I decided to do something about it.

Is this compatible with XYZ?

This mod works with the latest version of Fallout 4.
To the best of my knowledge, this mod should be compatible with everything, please inform me if you find a problem.

Installation:

Copy paste the .rar content into your fallout4 root folder or use NMM.

Uninstallation:

Grab your Sledgehammer and hit the damn thing until it crumbles.
(Delete cindercraft.esp and remove the folder meshes\architecture\cogate\)

Planned updates:

  • Doorway
  • Adding further snappoints for stacking
  • Adding an outside variant, similar to a foundation
  • Windows
  • Different wall elements
  • Improvised buildings i. e. Bunker
  • Probably new textures, not a priority as vanilla ones turned out quite nice, but
if anyone wants to look into it, feel free to pm me.
  • New stuff from your suggestions

Feedback:

Please describe your impressions on the usability of the walls, placement as well as further suggestions.
