DISCONTINUED:This mod does not work with the current version of Fallout. Use DEF_UI instead, it's more customisable and just an all round better mod. I'm using it myself :)

--------------------------

What this mod does

  • Removes the enemy indicators from Compass
  • Removes the location icons from Compass
  • Removes enemy health bars
  • Removes Stealth meter (no more HIDDEN, DETECTED, CAUTION or DANGER) indicator.
  • Moves and resizes HUD elements to the edges of the screen. (See Screenshots)
  • VATS: Recolours friend/foe name, legendary/skull icons and all resistances (if you have the perk) to white. (See Screenshots)

As a result of these changes, you become more cautious, you have to use your judgement when attacking over whether to spray more bullets at a charging enemy or whether to tuck tail and run for it. Also no more 360 spins looking at your compass for blips, that was a major immersion killer for me.

Most noteable difference comes about at the end of a battle, you have no idea if there are any enemies left, no more safe HIDDEN message to let you know, you have to look around and tread carefully!

Also as a side effect, you must be more careful if you want to steal from friendly areas (we've all done it).

Why I made this mod

I use DEF_INV Improved Inventory mod and he recently updated it to show the scrap components to items
as you mousover them, a hugely valuable addition in my opinion. However it conflicts with MyHud, so
I decided to take the HUDmenu from DEF_INV and edit it myself to make it more to my taste. I then had
various people on Facebook asking me to send it, so figured others on the Nexus might want it too.

As a result this mod is compatible with DEF_INV 0.16 at the last time of testing

DISCLAIMER

Use this at your own risk. I have only tested this mod with my setup, so if you encounter any problems then let me know and I will see what I can do. I am not a modder, so my skills are highly limited!
