Description

Last updated at 5:56, 4 Dec 2016 Uploaded at 19:48, 14 Dec 2015

I am well aware that this file page is overdue for some major re-organising after so many updates. Please be patient while I get all the Seasons updated to version 3.3 as I will be doing major overhaul of the Seasons layout after that's done. I apologise for the delay, but updating such a large mod is laborious and time-consuming and I am only one frog person.

How to use Seasons:
Choose a season from the downloads page. Choose only ONE season at a time, you can manually switch seasons via your mod manager at any time.
It is quick and easy for you to do this!

Download the base game file plus the DLC files you need. Make sure that you check for updates under the updates section as some major bug fixes are posted there.

I will be (over time) including both BA2 and loose file options. BA2 files have much better performance, but loose files will always override BA2 files so if you have other texture mods and they aren't BA2 files and you want Seasons to override them then you NEED loose file versions. I'm thinking it will be better to switch the main files to be loose ones and the BA2 files to be under Miscellaneous, at least until more modders start using BA2s.

COMBINED OBJECTS: If you disable combined objects in your .ini file, please just use the console to delete any unwanted trees, it's the best
way.
QUOTE
select the tree in the console, enter:
disable

if the tree disappears it's safe to then enter:
markfordelete

if something ELSE disappears or you can't tell what disappeared, enter:
enable

so you don't accidentally disable something you shouldn't.
I do NOT support problems caused by disabling combined objects and I design Seasons around not using that edit as it causes massive fps loss for me especially in Boston.

If you have any questions, bugs, etc. please make a comment. I am too busy making textures to be able to be able to play more often than not, so feedback is vital.

FALLOUT 4 SEASONS ADD-ONS & UPDATES:
The full ownership of the Seasons Project mods has now been transferred
to the most excellent modder frogprincessQ4 for future updates & add-ons to the mod.
GameDuchess will remain available for now to help with assistance and support as she can,
but please consider Froggie the Seasons Project mod author from this point forward.

NO, THE SEASONS DO NOT CHANGE AUTOMATICALLY. PLEASE ONLY INSTALL ONE SEASON AT A TIME.

Thank you so much to Hodilton for this feature video of Seasons paired with Subtle ENB!

The first Seasons update patches have been added. I haven't made anything for Winter yet,
but SparrowPrince has kindly and spectacularly created and allowed me to add a Snowy LOD for use with Winter.
Install the main Winter files and then add the LODs.

**Winter LODs can be safely used alongside SparrowPrince's FAR - Faraway Area Reform (LOD)
It does replace the diffuse maps, but the bump maps will still work.**

***Autumn, Spring and Summer LODs added as part of the update patches. Overwrite main Season's file with the patch files.
If you use FAR simply overwrite the noise file with the Season's one. Spring and Summer patches also include some flowers/foliage. Some of my textures have alternate versions, see my
mod list page for more details.***

These Seasons packages also look cool with the addition of More Grass Low by Meltus. Recommended More Grass Low is in Optional Files section. You can add Snow to your Winter season over at Nuclear Weather.

This Mod may drop your FPS
: Textures range from vanilla to 4k (there are some vanilla 4K textures by the way!).

AVAILABLE SEASONS:

FALL SEASON - Bright autumn foliage and plants. Harvest time looks for appropriate crops.
WINTER SEASON - It's snow everywhere folks! Most everything is dead or dried out or slumbering. (Try Nuclear Weather - SNOW as an add-on!)
SPRING SEASON - Quite colorful! Green time for crops, and bright blooming flowers and plants!
SUMMER SEASON - Less bright greens, few flowers, harvest time looks for appropriate crops.

MOD CREDITS (All assets from the below mod resources are already included and used with full permission of the original authors.)

[b]Textures for the Seasons Project were painstakingly hand selected, switched around, mixed & matched, optimized, recolored, or otherwise tweaked to suit the Season they are in. The result is a complete overhaul for each season.

I asked for and received direct permission from all the mod authors who - I believe - may have had some of their files incorporated into DR. HIGHLY RECOMMEND additional mods for the ultimate landscape & gaming experience. (Screenshots do not show these mods, BTW.)
(Install BEFORE FO4 Seasons mod in the order below order & overwrite when asked.)

Vivid Landscapes Mods - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1400/? (Seasons will overwrite many files, but they are a great base!)
True Storms - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4472/?
Nuclear Weather - For REAL snow effects and lots of other cool weathers! - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9063/
Radiant Clouds & Fog - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/735/?
(Then your chosen Seasons Project file.)
Anything from frogprincessQ4's mod list page made as an addition to Seasons! (Overwrite Seasons files.)

ALSO RECOMMENDED

MaRoc ENB - If you want grit & realism, this is the ENB for you. May be a bit performance heavy.
Subtle ENB - Optimized for gameplay and performance on Vanilla color palette, top video.
OR RenVision ENB - Several different varieties, video above.
OR Wasteland Grit Reshade - Very post-apocalyptic, muted, noir cinema style reshade.
OR Grim Wolf Reshade & ENB BOS Edition - High end, detailed, realism look.

COMPATIBILITY

This mod just replaces/adds textures and some few meshes. Should be compatible with just about everything, but may overwrite some textures for Seasons effects. Compatible with True Storms. Add on Nuclear Weather (link above) for snowstorms, and more additional weathers too.

INSTALLATION

BACK UP YOUR DAMN DATA FOLDER AND SAVE GAMES BEFORE YOU INSTALL ANY NEW MOD! Just saying. :-)

Nexus Mod Manager - Download using the NMM button and then install, or download using the manual link (RECOMMENDED) and copy folder into your NMM mod manager and install. Big files sometimes corrupt or break when using the NMM button to download.

Manual Installation - I REALLY recommend using NMM to install. If not, however, download using the manual link, then BACKUP YOUR DATA FILE FIRST, unzip the .rar file and drag the contents into your data folder and overwrite when asked.

Any Other Mod Manager - I don't use them and know nothing about them, so proceed at your own risk.

UNINSTALL

Nexus Mod Manager - Just uninstall using the NMM function. * There have been a few reports of not all textures uninstalling when uninstalling a Seasons package. This is NOT specific to this mod. I have experienced this bug with Nexus Mod Manager when installing and uninstalling other texture mods, such as Grafix and Vivid Landscapes.

If you have NO other landscape mods installed, you can simply uninstall your Seasons package, then delete the Fallout 4/Data/Textures/Landscape and Fallout 4/Data/Meshes/Landscape folders and it should put everything back to Vanilla. If you DO have other landscape mods installed, try uninstalling them, then deleting those folders if they are there, and then reinstalling those mods. It's a pain, but there is some glitch going on with NMM in what seems to be rare cases that is not restricted to just this mod.

Manual Uninstall - I really recommend using NMM, but if not, you'll be needing that backup Data folder you made, you crazy person.

Any Other Mod Manager - I don't use them and know nothing about them, so proceed at your own risk.
