About this mod

A simple ESP replacer for the "IP4APA Institute Paint for all Power Armours" mod which fixes the problem of not being able to apply the Institute Paint to the X01 Power Armour which the mod author seemed to have forgot to include alongside the T45, T51 and T60 Armours.

I have recently been playing Fallout 4 and setting up different mod profiles in Vortex and trying out different mods. In my current profile I was looking to collect as many different types of Power Armour as I could, have it painted in a variety of paints and then put them on display in a sort of Power Armour Museum, inspired by the YouTuber Oxhorn. Based on his videos I was directed to the mods by invock in which he enables the different faction specific paintjobs for all the power armour types in the game. His Railroad Paint for all Power Armors , Minuteman Paint for all Power Armors and Institute Paint for all Power Armors

It was after downloading the Institute Paint Mod I noticed a problem in game, that when trying to paint the X01 Armour the Institute option just isn't in the menu and available to apply to the armour. The T45, T51 and T60 Armour all have the option and all can be painted fine. So I went back to the mod page to discover this 'Bug' was first mentioned back on 31st December 2015 and despite several users commenting about it and the author himself saying he'd look into it the mod has never been updated or fixed.

I decided to have a bit of a look and dig into the mod files and discovered two issues with the original file. Firstly the author hasn't included any textures or materials for the X01 Armor, that in itself is perhaps not too big a problem as the Vanilla Game contains X01 Institute Paint files as you normally would receive the Paint Swap upon completing the game sided with the Institute Faction. So I'm guessing the author intended to use these default files for the X01 and then created his own off that for the other armour types which he did included in the mod. The second issue is the one that actually causes the problem. Nowhere in the mods ESP has the author created records for the X01 Armour in Constructible Object, Material Swap or Object Modification. He did with the other armour types and they work fine in the game.

So what I have done is add the missing records for the X01 Power Armour using the same format/structure as the author used for the other armour types. I then for the Material Swap record pointed it to the Vanilla Fallout Textures for the X01 Armour due to the mod lacking any of its own. I then saved the file and booted up the game to test and now the X01 Armour can have the Institute Paint applied, just like the other armour types.

The only issue/drawback to this fix if you use any other mods that replace the vanilla Fallout 4 Institute Power Armour textures, you'll find the X01 Armour will use those texture files where as the T45, T51 and T60 will use the Textures that come with the Institute Paint for all Power Armors mod. This mod file is also only for the 'No Restrictions' version of the mod which allows you to paint armour without doing any faction quests or requirements and also is only for the version which retains the Institute Logo on the Armours.

This is a simple ESP replacement, so install it and let it override the original IP4APA.esp that comes with the original mod. This file doesn't include any of the Author's Textures or Materials, so you will need to download and install that first, before installing this fix. Please remember to endorse invock's original mod Institute Paint for all Power Armors
