About this mod
This mod provides a basic framework for the addition of weapon, armor, and eventually Pip Boy skins for Fallout 4 VR. It intends to supply the framework missing from the base game to allow things like the use of Creation Club skins, or other weapon or armor skins.

Sadly, Fallout 4 VR never got that update, rendering the skins useless for those that have them.
This mod provides a basic framework for Fallout 4 VR to allow the use of weapon and armor skins. I've also included compatibility patches for all the current Creation Club Weapon skins.
Now includes compatibility patches for both CC Weapons AND Armor!
Pip Boy Skins are currently being worked on.
Note: Before using this, you need to convert any .esl file to an esm, or the mod wont recognize it. FO4VR cannot even use esl files, so the game wont load it anyways.
The latest update adds support for additional weapon keywords, fixes a few bugs, and enables support for The Gunmetal Weapon Skins Mod, v 1.5.5
To convert it, simply rename it to an .esm file.
Thank you to Shanic the Oatmeme for the original skin framework I built upon to create this.
If you want to patch a skin to work with this framework, here are the steps to do so.
Open the creation kit.
Load the appropriate framework esm files and the mod you wish to patch.
For an armor skin, change the attach point of the skin to "ap_Armor_Paint_VR"
For a weapon skin, change the attach point of the skin to "ap_WeaponMaterial_VR"
Add the correct Mod Association Keywords:
ma_Armor_Combat_paint_VR, for Combat Armor
ma_Armor_Leather_paint_VR, for Leather Armor
ma_Armor_Metal_paint_VR, for Metal Armor
ma_Armor_Synth_paint_VR, for Synth Armor
ma_WeaponMaterialSwaps_VR, for weapon skins
