  • Luck now determines how good loot is, and how much ammo/caps you find.  Also increases the chance to find Dirt Piles.
  • Can find Lucky Bottle Caps (chem) that increases Luck by 1 for 20 minutes.

Oh, okay...  long description.  Pretty much what it says on the tin.  The Metal Detector...
  • is crafted at the Chem Station under Utility.  Requires Science! 1.
  • only works when pointed at the ground.
  • makes a beeping noise.
  • makes a different beeping noise when it "finds" something.
  • produces little piles of dirt you can dig into to find caps, ammo, and other metal items.
  • actually works on roads, floors, bridges, blimp catwalks, and any other surface because scripting it to detect ground is apparently impossible.
  • is actually a "weapon" so it has to be "fired" to work (hold down shoot button).
  • comes in an ESP and ESL package.
  • is just a fun little distraction.
