About this mod
Allows you to run F4SE along with Bethesda's Fallout 4 Game/Settings Launcher.
- Requirements
- Permissions and credits
- Changelogs
Having had problems with Steam and it's handling of Fallout 4's executables (in my case Bethesda's Launcher would ALWAYS run, even when running "f4se_loader.exe"), I found my dealings with getting F4SE to work rather tedious upon every Fallout 4 update. This can be used to allow you to run the Launcher and have F4SE working as well.
Thanks to Warlord at the Steam Fallout 4 Guides for the original guide that this is based on here.
Contents
This is a 7-ZIP archive that contains two command window files and "F4SE.ini" for this to work.
Prerequisites
- F4SE (of course) NOTE: This MUST be a version compatible with the current version of Fallout 4.
- 7-ZIP archiver to extract
Instructions
- Extract the archive to your Fallout 4 game folder, keeping the folder structure.
- Run "F4SE_Copy.cmd". If you use UAC, run this as Administrator to make sure it works correctly.
- If you want to reverse this for any reason, just run "Vanilla_F4.cmd". Once again, if you use UAC, run as an Administrator.
Known Issues
If you run LOOT, it will say that you don't seem to be running the latest version of Fallout 4. This is normal as this essentially make backups of your F4SE files and then renames "Fallout4.exe" and copy's the "f4se_loader.exe" to the original file name. The .ini file lets F4SE know the filename of the true executable.
