Color grading for fallout

The Corrected Balanced Preset:

I really like the atmosphere and detail level in fallout but have been annoyed by the excessive amounts of blue ambient light, bright shadows and nights that are almost daylight.

There is a lot of presets out there which desatures the look quite a bit to make it more wasteland looking but the problem is that they de saturate the whole color spectrum. Those presets makes stuff that should have a strong color like signal flares, flames, lanterns, lights ++ to be washed out.

This preset desaturate everything except the red to yellow colors to get rid of most of over-saturated look fallout has. This makes explosions and flames stand out nice compared to the environment.

I have also tweaked gamma settings to get darker nights and shadows during the day to get more realism. now you actually need to use the pip boy light. This can also be turned off in re shade with one click.

Link to before and after screenshots. The scenes with much atmospherics at sunset or overcast isn't affected much which is okay since those are already beautiful.

Mad Wasteland:

Inspired by Mad Max Fury Road. This is a pretty heavy preset so it may not look perfect on all weather conditions. it was set up with default weather running which is the most common one. To toggle preset on and off is the scroll lock key.

The Road:

This is a mimic of the great movie, The Road. Highlights is severly lowered to get the feeling of overcast in any weather condition.

Fallout 3:

The corrected balanced preset with some green in in the mids and darks and a bit towards yellow on highlights.
