About this mod

The default UI was meant for a longer viewing distance on consoles. I scaled it down for shorter viewing distances with monitors.

I'M NOT BLIND
(insert text size irony here)

(Stealth meter  and NPC names will NOT be on top of each other as they're not displayed at the same time.)

Update: New v1.2:
Complete redo of mod to fix a glitch I was having with mods that add a third hover option (like Horizon). Some of the elements have been rearranged (most changes are elements on the left side) to make sure no UI widgets are on top of the workshop menu or power armor HUD.

(this preset has the crosshair only shown with weapons drawn. If requested, I can make a version with the crosshair always on)

Why:
Since Bethesda made FO4 for both console and PC, the UI for console is large (for a typical TV to couch distance scenario). However, they didn't change it for the PC version. Since the distance is so much shorter with a monitor, the UI in the PC version is WAY too big in my opinion.

I decided to make a preset for my own personal use and thought maybe other people may like it as well.  (This will most likely be the final version.)
Note: The UI scaling/positioning was designed to be suited for monitors using 1920x1080 resolution (16:9 aspect ratio). It can be used with other resolutions however at lower resolutions all UI elements will be larger. With higher resolutions, it may be too difficult to read long item names on the hover over container contents list.

Notes regarding screenshots:
  • You will see in the first screenshot that the container item list appears smaller vs the in-game screenshots. Also, the dialogue subtitles are larger in the first screenshot vs in-game. This is just how the DEF_UI editing tool is (at least for me). That's why I give the screenshots in-game for reference.
  • All screenshots were taken at 1920 x 1080 resolution (16:9 aspect ratio).
  • The text for image "Container List Font Size Example" is more clear in the game vs how it appears in the screenshot. (For example, the smaller/longer named items)
