About this mod

This Guide will walk you through the steps of Importing your own music into the Mod Singing Settler

Permissions and credits
Akarnan's mod    Singing Settler    is just totally awesome and It works fine in my Conquest Settlement. After spending hours trying to get the 10 Custom Songs the mod allows to be imported to have lip synced files, ( because a Singer just standing there without even moving their lips is not very entertaining lol). Once I succeeded I decided to create this Guide for anyone else who wanted to do the same thing, or would like to use their own music in place of the standard Male and Female Songs. I was able to do so and they even have Lip Sync and Dance animation, and the Dance Animation can be set to ALL the songs. ( I will explain below ***.)

WARNING!!!! This should be self evident but do NOT record for Video or upload any song files you create this way or the Copyright Gods will stomp you FLAT!

First you will need a few tools

1: The Audio Convertor of your choice, Audacity is a good free option but there are lots of conversion tools out on the web. ( for converting your MP3 to WAV format)

2: .Lip Sync File Generator ( If you want to create your own .LIP files to match your music. You CAN just use the Default .Lip files but they may end before your music does, and this tool will add Lip Sync to the 10 Custom Songs the mod can normally import)
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20728/?

Unfuzer CPP Edition ( To decrypt the original .FUZ files to .WAV and .Lip files)
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19242/?

Instructions:

Step 1: First copy all the original .FUZ files from the " Data/Sound/Voice/AkaSinger.esp/NPCFMagnolia" folder to a working folder.

Step 2: Run the Unfuzer program, ( I unzipped it into the root of my working folder) select your working folder ( with the copied .FUZ files ) and hit the UnFUZ button. You will now have separated .WAV and .Lip files ( I used all female songs before realizing you can't force the Females to sing the Male songs so I suggest listening to each .WAV and copy them into separate folders Male and Female. In the end Males can have a total of 32 Songs with all the Custom List and the Females can have 23 )

Step 3 Temporarily rename the NPCFMagnolia folder in Data/Sound/Voice/AkaSinger.esp to something else ( I renamed to NPCFMagnolia-Org ) and create an empty folder called NPCFMagnolia (This is so If you mess up you have a backup! lol )

Step 4: Convert your Custom MP3 files to .WAV at full Quality and copy them into your working folder and Rename them to match the Original File names in the Order you want them to be played. ( This is where having them in separate Male and Female folders can be very convenient as a 250 lb Bearded Male Singer Singing a Female song doesn't really come out right lol)

Step 5: For best Lip Sync creation reconvert a 2nd copy of your new renamed .WAV files to 44K 16 bit Mono and copy them to the empty NPCFMagnolia
folder you created in the Data/Sound/Voice/AkaSinger.esp folder. ( I had issues with this step and the only free way I found to do it was an online converter that could only do single files at a time http://audio.online-convert.com/convert-to-wav )

Step 6: After following the install directions for the .Lip Sync File Generator run the LIPGenerator - Fallout 4.bat in your Fallout 4 folder and in the command prompt that appears type "AkaSinger.esp" without the quotes and hit enter. This WILL take a long time and will often look like it isn't doing anything, give it time and DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING on your system while this is running or it WILL Crash! When it finishes the .LIP creation, the Creation Kit will crash ( from what I understand this is normal for the 32 bit Creation Kit, but it is the only way I found to get the needed .LIP files), just close it out and your .LIP files will be in the Data/Sound/Voice/AkaSinger.esp/NPCFMagnolia folder.

Step 7: Now copy your full fidelity .WAV files to the Data/Sound/Voice/AkaSinger.esp/NPCFMagnolia folder, overwriting the Mono files

Step 8 ***: To get the Singer to dance on any song just make a copy of whichever one of the 6 .HKX files from the NPCFMagnolia folder, and rename it to match the Song you want the Singer to dance to. If you do all the songs you will have 3 files of each type WAV , .LIP and .HKX for each song, ( I tried rebuilding the .WAV and .LIP files as .FUZ but the singer would not sing any of them but if left as loose .WAV and .LIP files then it worked fine. I suspect it is because the Unfuzer is for Skyrim and while it can unpack the .WAV and .LIP files it can't repack them in a way Fallout 4 can understand. )

And that's it! your Singer will now sing the songs you want with Lip Sync and Dance Animation! The instructions above also work with the 10 Custom Songs to give them Lip Sync and Dance Animations!

P.S. This will NOT rename the Song Titles in the Song Configurator for the Basic Male and Female lists

Hope this guide helps others to enjoy your awesome mod Akarnan!
