About this mod

Mow down enemies like blades of grass, punch through flesh and steel like it was paper, and walk through a field of brass with the new and improved Minigun. More powerful than ever before, reworked mods along with a new Receiver and Motor slot turns the Minigun into the customizable powerhouse it was originally suppose to be.

Minigun Weapon Rework
The Minigun: a weapon that has been present since the very first Fallout. Chambered for 5mm, sporting the highest ammo capacity around, and oozing badassery from its appearance alone, Fallout 4's Minigun is... little more then a rapid-fire peashooter.

With a paltry base damage of 8 without any perks, a rate of fire more akin to a machine gun then its namesake, and sporting a pathetic amount of mods, Fallout 4's Minigun is even more lackluster than its previous incarnations. It's easily out-classed by the poorly-named Assault Rifle in terms of damage and performance even if the two bare a similar weight with the later fully-modded. Its inaccuracy is laughable as well, making it anything but usable at beyond short-range engagements when coupled with its pathetic damage.

Enter the CZ-59 Castigator.

With a base damage of 12, an increased rate of fire, and the addition of a Motor and Receiver option, the CZ-59 Castigator is what the Minigun should have been in the first place in terms of performance and fire power. The hidden drawbacks that the mods came with, , such as increased VATS cost and longer aim-down-sights-times, have been removed and their crafting recipes made as sensical as possible. Accuracy has been increased overall, the VATS cost has been reduced to 30, and the weapon can be now customized further with the aforementioned new Receivers and Motors.

There are four receivers, all of which affect how much damage the CZ-59 Castigator does. The standard caliber is 5mm as it has been in vanilla and previous titles. However, the 5mm round in reality is hardly impressive and easily out-classed by 5.56mm NATO and similar calibers. Speaking of which, 5.56mm is the next available caliber the CZ-59 Castigator can be chambered for. Offering 8 additional damage for a total of 20, the 5.56mm Receiver comes at the cost of a decrease in total shot capacity and an increase in recoil. However, the damage boost more than makes up for the reduced capacity. The .308 Receiver is the third available, offering enhanced performance compared to the previous calibers but experiences greater recoil as well. Using it amps the damage up by 18 for a sum of 30 per shot.

Lastly, there is the .50 BMG Receiver. With a damage increase of 30 for a grand total of 42, this makes the CZ-59 Castigator a formidable weapon even with no damage perks or additional mods installed. Suitable for taking on even the deadliest and hardiest of foes at high levels, using the .50 BMG Receiver allows the CZ-59 Castigator to do considerable damage even against the like of Legendary Mythic Deathclaws. The serious drawback of this though is both the ammo type and the recoil that comes with its use. When coupled with the High-speed Motor, the recoil can make the CZ-59 nigh-unusable without having a way to compensate for it. That said, those who can afford to feed its appetite and control it will find they have a real beast of gun at their beck and call.

As mentioned before, Motors affect the rate of fire. The Low-speed Motor lowers the RoF to the vanilla setting, making your ammo last longer and recoil easier to deal with. The Factory Motor has the RoF be twice as fast as the vanilla Minigun's and comes by default, making it feel that much closer to the actual performance of a genuine minigun. The High-speed Motor is triple of that of the vanilla Minigun's RoF, allowing your enemies to experience what bullet hell truly feels like.

That's not all though.

Two unique variants have been introduced: The experimental Peacemaker V-32 and the Meat Grinder. Both come with two unique mods that cannot be crafted or found as loot in addition to high-level regular mods, making their owners formidable opponents. The Peacemaker V-32 can be found on the Gunner Commander in the HalluciGen building and the Meat Grinder on Ack-ack in the USAF Satellite Station Oliva.

Future Plans
The mod will most likely be left as-is for the time being unless there's a serious issue. However, I am aware that the unique weapons and their mods are not spawning properly. I will look into fixing them When I can. Aside from that, there is not much else to improve upon. Feel free to make suggestions or leave ideas in the comments though.
