About this mod

What this mod aims to create a crafting system in which you can craft weapons, armor, and ammo from scratch. Is it not strange that you could build every aspect of the guns to professional standards, but not build the guns themselves? These recipes are not just given freely, magazines must be obtain to unlock the recipes at construction stations.

What this mod aims to create is a crafting system in which you can craft weapons, armor, food, chems, and ammo from scratch.  I always thought it strange that you could build every aspect of the guns to professional standards, but not build the guns themselves?  These recipes are not just handed to  the player.  This is to maintain the core mechanics of Fallout 4, going out and exploring.  You will find that certain weapons such as pool cues are not craftable.  This is because no one makes a pool cue with the intention of using it as a weapon.

Its been a really long time since I updated this about 2 years if you can believe it. Why?  I was in the process of adding new features in the hope that I would soon be able to port this to fallout 76 and had decided to hit pause on modding.  However it seems my hopes of being able to "fix" that game and get rid of the MMO and make it more of a survival RPG with friends has
come to a grinding halt. With us being way past the target date for mod support I decided to halt modding, also life got in the way. Everything should be functional so but there maybe things that may seem like its been partially implemented... there a lot that goes into building databases like this.  Therefore if you see things that are buggy or dosent make sense let me know and ill try to fix it

So what is new that is explained bellow, but most importantly This now requires AWKCR and all the DLC.  I got tired of trying to manage multiple files and their conflicting overwrites so I merged everything into a single file.  Was it a pain? Yes, yes it was so I have no intention of going back to multiple files.

Generally Function
In order to craft equipment construction stations must be built at settlements with the proper components and perks. After the stations are constructed you must go out into the world and buy (from vendors) or obtain magazines to unlock the recipes at the stations. The recipes of course require components and perks to build.  This mod also adds new crafting materials, there is stainless steel, titanium, brass, various sizes of screws.

The Chip System
When you scrap junk no longer will you get an entire ingot of steel.  The reason being is that when you scrap a fork for example you will get chips of (Stainless Steel).  It makes no sense that you would get a entire ingot of steel, they do not have the same volume so where does the extra matter come from?  Chips will have to be smelted at the AWKCR Utility Craftingbench.  Generally speaking, 300 chips(thread in the case of fabrics) are required to “smelt” a ingot/vanilla crafting unit. This format applies to metals, fabrics, glass, fiberglass, Asbestos, ceramics (in real life recycled ceramic is not as strong). This also allows for a more realistic scale when it comes to scrapping junk as compared to settlement objects.  This also means a steel ingot is very valuble, and it would be.  I block of steel all ready and waiting to be milled.  Not all materials can be recycled like this.  Liquids such as acid, adhesive function just as they do in the vanilla game.  Leather, wood, and cork chips are effectively worthless like in real life.  These components have some uses and maybe expanded upon.  If you have thoughts on this feel free to share

Hardware (Currently being Implemented section updates section)

Practical Repurposing Makeshift (THIS MAY GET EXPANDEDUPON)
When scrapping tires you will no longer get rubber you will instead have a tire added to your settlement inventory.  These scraped tires for example will be used for specific junk walls segments.  These tires however can be scraped for rubber scrap. So, you will have to be a little careful when recycling at the utility station. The point is, no one make a tire with the intention of using it to build a wall, just as no one creates a cinderblock with the intention of using it as a chair.  They do because they have no other options.  For example tires and cinderblock will be used for junk wall

Vendors have mod

Vendors can now carry weapon and Armor Mods

Scraping Trash

Scraping ground trash will give you scraps of metal and other scraps

Wood is now Heavy

Wood is heavier and is treated as lumber, you can’t carry this stuff.  Realistically speaking you can only carry so much.  Try carrying 20plus 2 by 4 s, you can’t.

No More concrete

Concrete is made by mixing cement, gavel and water.  When it hardens it creates concrete in the shape of the body it is poured into. Therefore, when building structures, you will need cement, gravel and water.  Rocks have minerals used to create cement.  They also contain gravel.

The other purpose of this mod is to provide fellow modders with an outlet to create sub-mod‘s for this mod.  For those of you who out there
who are creating custom armor and weapons and want to adapt your content for this mod go right ahead.  All I ask is for an honorable
mention in your mod description. Please make it clear in your description that it is a sub mod and provide a link to this mod in your
description.  If you are not a fan of the magazine activators and wish to just do a recipe that is fine, but I would encourage you to do so to
maintain the vision of this mod.

If you find anything that seems out of place, please mention it in the comments.  Please be as detailed as possible, so I have all the
information I need to rectify the situation.

Installation with the Nexus Mod Manager is like gravity all it takes is a little push of the right mouse button.  If you want to do this manually drop all the content into the Fallout 4 data folder. It is most likely in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data.

For AWKCR users you will still need the UCM master file, there is a .esp adapter that will convert everything to AWKCR.  Then use either the standalone plugins OR the AWKCR plugins. DO NOT mix and match the standalone files with AWKCR files, pick one or the other.

For uninstalling the mod, uninstall with NMM or delete the files... I don't know how much easier I can make it.

Hardware (Currently being Implemented)
Recipes now require hardware to complete recipes.  Hardware are universal components (commercial items) that are used by multiple crafting recipes.  For example, clothing hardware consists of things such as buttons, zippers, ect. They are made from the components such as rubber, steel, aluminum, ect.  These can be scraped for chips thus technically making them junk items which allows them to be dumped in mass into a settlement workshop.  This also severally reduces the odds of accidental scrapping junk while crafting.  It also makes them a bit more recyclable   It will force you to a certain extent to be a bit more hands on.  Hardware can be found, bought, but generally it is crafted.  This is ultimatly designed to make for more realistic crafting recipes.  Needing 3 ingots of steel to make a sword, give me a brake that is enough steel for several swords.

The mod is available for X-Box One, however it currently old and dosen't have DLC support. Estimated time of arrival... the future maybe PC modding is far more flexible so consoles are not super high priority for me.

This goes without saying but...
Thank you Bethesda Game Studios for all your hard work and for giving our lives meaning. I would also like to say thank you to the incredible concept artist at Bethesda for creating the artwork that you see on the magazines in this mod.  I feel concept artist don't always get the recognition they deserve and their work is not always directly scene in the final product.  So I thought using the art in this mod would be a great way to give these artist the recognition they deserve.

So thank you Bethesda for being talented.
