About this mod

Vertical transporter console useful for accessing underground structures

Requirements

Z-Aligned Personnel Relocator (ZAPR) Consoles

Purpose

I made this mod to allow immersive transport to and from settlement structures I have built underground, without having to resort to the 'tcl' console command all the time. Think of it as a variation on the Workshop elevator, except this one will transport you down through the ground.

Of course, these consoles work just as well above ground too.

Hope you get some good use out of the mod when building your settlements!

Warning - Vault-Tec Experimental Prototype

To allow transportation below the ground, this mod uses the SetMotionType() Papyrus function. When you activate the console, it will do the following to your player character: 1) disable Havok physics 2) perform the transport and 3) re-enable dynamic motion type. I have been using this mod for about a week on my current character with no side effects that I can see, but as the link above shows, some users have noted bugs or unexpected outcomes with this function. As with all Vault-Tec prototypes, take precautions - save your game before installing, and test it out thoroughly!

>> To avoid causing yourself missing Workshop menu problems after removing the mod, make sure to follow the uninstallation process below! <<

Usage

The console recipes are in the Workshop, under Structures/ZAPR. There are two sets of consoles, each transporting up or down by 1, 2 or 3 levels. The V-type can be used with structures built in 256-unit levels (like those in the Vault Workshop DLC). The C-type can be used with structures built in 224-unit levels (like standard Concrete walls).

To use them:
- explore the area first to make sure you have room under the map, and won't be transporting into water!
- place a floor of some kind placed at the location you are transporting to
- place the appropriate console in Workshop either above or below the target floor as needed
- exit the Workshop
- activate the console

Quick Start Example

Here is an example to get started. (This assumes you have the Vault Workshop DLC - if not, just use standard Wood or Concrete floors instead
along with the C-type consoles.)

Suppose you want to build your power generators and water pumps in a hidden vault under your settlement. You have already explored the area underground using the 'tcl' command and know there is at least 3 Vault-levels (3 * 256 units = 768 units) of clear space under the surface ground.

1. Place an Atrium floor tile on the ground, or better yet snapped onto a nearby concrete or wood floor foundation.
2. Enter Fallout 4 console mode (tilde key ~) and click on the Atrium floor tile.
3. Move it downward by three V-levels (modpos z -768), to underground. Exit the Fallout 4 console.
4. Place a second Atrium floor tile right where you placed the first one.
5. Place a ZAPR V-Type 3 Down console on the second floor tile.
6. Activate the ZAPR console. You should now be underground, standing on the first floor tile, and can start building out from here as you wish.
7. To get back to the surface, place a ZAPR V-Type 3 Up console on the "landing" tile, and activate it.

Installation

Use the Nexus Mod Manager.

Uninstallation

*Before* removing the mod from your game
, craft the Uninstall ZAPR Consoles chem at the Chemistry Workbench (under Utility), and use it. This will safely remove the custom menu from the Workshop. After this, save and exit, then remove the mod using Nexus Mod Manager as usual. When you start Fallout 4 next, you should not be missing any Workshop menus (apart from the ZAPR menu, as expected).

Thanks to steve40 and darthwayne for sharing their knowledge on adding custom workshop menus by script injection.
