Oberland Station as a fort. Easily defensible. Only Transfer Settlements and one mod required. No DLC required. Now updated with Transfer Settlements V1.48.

Tired of using so much of your settlement budget building a defensible perimeter? I did. So now I use my settlements as my perimeter. I know of the mod to the expand settlement budget, but I saw it as a challenge to make all of my 'Forts' keep within the game budget using only what I actually scrounged.

This 'Fort' has -

  • 20 Beds
  • 24 Water (Better Generators )
  • 20+ Food 
  • 200 Defense
  • 3 Stores 
  • All crafting workbenches

Additional Fort Oberland Notes

This was a tricky one...
If you use this blueprint you will find that it exactly fits flush with that tower, with room for settlers to traverse.

I have no idea how or why, but the original fast travel point in game has been changed since I first built this.
It used to place you outside the tower at the south-west corner since first release until recently.
Now it dumps you right beside one of the two generators, and you are stuck unless you use the console command 'TCL' or move the generator.

*** IMPORTANT***
As soon as you drop this blueprint please set a fast travel mat somewhere inside the build zone...

After over a 1000 hours of Fallout 4 game-play I have come to the conclusion that Bethesda base a settlements budget not on some arbitrary number, but on how many square yards/metres the settlement occupies and what is already in it.


Yes, the machine-gun turrets are facing the center courtyard. Thanks to Bugthesda enemies often spawn inside your settlements.

Installation

The folder needs to be extracted and placed in your 'Transfer Settlements' folder. 7zip
/Steam/SteamApps/Common/Fallout4/Data/F4SE/plugins/TransferSettlements/blueprints/
