Description

I found some perks in the game either too powerful, not powerful enough or just not interesting. So here is a collection of perk changes. At the bottom of this page are links to other perk mods I've made that are stand alone mods, but are very much so designed to work together with this.

Compatibility

This mod will obviously conflict with mods that alter the perks listed bellow. Especially other mods that overhaul all perks. However, it should work fine with mods that alter perks not listed. In fact I did not touch perks such as cannibal, bloody mess or intimidation and critical related perks since there are already excellent mods that handle those.

Perk Changes

Locksmith: Removed rank 4 as it is stupid. Changed the size of sweet spots to make it a little less boring. Vanilla sweet spots (master 20, expert 40, average 60, novice 80) changed to (master 20, expert 30, average 40, novice 50).

Hacking: Removed rank 4 as it is stupid. Holotapes for hacking spotlights, turrets and Protectrons are given for the first 3 ranks of hacking (in that order). You can still get the holotapes from finding the Total Hack magazines in the world. I added this because I suck at collecting and feel that those abilities make the hacking skill a lot more interesting and worthwhile.

Adamantium Skeleton: reduces limb damage by 20%, 40% and 65%

Aquaboy/girl:
Rank one adds +10 rad resist when in water and a 25% increase to swim speed.
Rank two allows you to breath underwater and requires level 28 to unlock.

Sneak: Removed rank 5 for balance. increased level requirements for each rank (1, 7, 16, 32).

Gunslinger: bonus damage now affects all pistols (including automatics) however the secondary bonuses like disarming, only affect non-automatics. Ranks unlock at level 1, 12, 30, 50 and 70.

Rifleman: bonus damage now affects all rifles (including automatics) however, secondary bonuses like ignoring armor only affect single fire rifles. Ranks unlock at level 1, 12, 30, 50 and 70.

Commando: perk no longer increases damage (gunslinger and rifleman handle that). Reduced to 3 ranks (that unlock at level 1, 15 and 35). The effects of each rank are equivalent to the stagger and hip fire accuracy you get rom ranks 3, 4 and 5 vannilla commando, with the exception that rank 3 increases hip fire accuracy an additional 5%.

Demolition Expert: Ranks unlock at level 1, 10, 25, 40 and 56. Added a fifth rank that reduces incoming explosive damage by 25%.

Heavy Gunner: ranks unlock at level 1, 12, 30, 50, 70.

Sniper: rank 3 further increases your chances of knocking down targets, since vanilla rank 3 just offered a VATS accuracy bonus.

Wasteland Messiah: This is a joke mod, but so is the perk it changes so whatever.
Settlement Progression: Doesn't directly change perks, but drastically changes how perks affect settlement building.
