Current status:
Working on companion quest, basic structure and commands are done. Currently in testing to make sure all commands work. 


Winter npc is complete and currently being tested 1v1 with various enemies

To do before release:
Finish quest, add voiced dialogue back in.
Choose a starting place.
Combat tests.
NMM options menu for original dogmeat/ other options in the future



A note about updates:

Ran into some PC problems that required me to reinstall windows and a lot of my games on my SSD, including Fallout 4. I had planned to update Winter only a week or two after hiding the file, however due to these issues it will probably be a bit longer yet. I have decided to unhide the mod, as a buggy version is better than no version. On the bright side i have already worked out some of the problems in the new build. (I've said that before. Let's hope this time I'm right)

The new version will most likely not be able to be updated from the previous versions, and will include an additional file that adds dogmeat back in with modified stats only if you prefer. Hopefully I'll have it out before Frost V.6! I'm currently juggling a lot of things including renovating and moving into a new house so please understand I don't have a whole lot of time to work on this right now!

Current Progress
Changed Subgraph data to be an additive to Dogmeat's race instead of it's own standalone. Hopefully this will solve some of the problems people are having with Winter having no animations.

I'm looking for a new location for winter, and the Mass Pike West tunnel seems like a good fit as it is close to the subway starting area and can be fairly easy, but still prevents a bit of a challenge as you have to deal with ghouls/survivors.

Introduction

Adds a new dog to replace Dogmeat for FROST. He is located in the Greenbriar bunker south of Recon Bunker Theta. This is a placeholder location until I add a similar location and quest line.


Uses a script from Companion Heal Thyself  By Greslin. Thanks a ton for letting me use it to heal Winter, and if you guys hate having to stimpak companions in the middle of a firefight, you should check it out.

Note that the auto healing takes about 30 seconds, and is not supposed to occur during combat. Winter is really only meant to take on 1 survivor fairly. Maybe 2-3 ghouls. Beyond that hes only meant to hold/distract enemies.

People still seem to not able to get Winter to follow them, I am looking for a fix for this, in the meantime if any of you have modding experience feel free to take a look and see if you can't see the problem!

Known Issues:

Winter currently does not consume a bandage when downed. I suspect this is due to calling the object from FROST, I want to make a unique object for healing anyways so I will experiment with that these next few versions.

Occasionally Winter will stand back up, but won't follow you, the only fix is leaving him, he will return to the bunker to wait for you unless you reload a previous save.

Planned features/fixes ordered by priority:

Combat, weight and health balances.

Create a custom item for auto healing/Look into creating a more streamlined version of the script (a lot of it is not used and is meant for human actors)

Add nexus installer options for different skins, names, possibly stats.

Better dialogue/starting area

Add custom armors, quests.

1.21 - Finally managed to track down a bug that was causing him to have negative carry weight. He should be able to carry 30 pounds Now. Also Changed the name to be a bit more specific in the mod list

1.2 - Made Winter Compatible with default armor, made several changes to health, level in relation to player (1/3rd), and combat.

1.1 - No longer required to be loaded after frost. Standalone Companion. Can be commanded to do things, traded with (Weight and other balance to come once I play with him a bit and see how he does), and fights normally. Use this file if you are having problems with carry weight and attacking.
