2023 update Download my All in One and have everything from Vivid Landscapes in one ba2: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/25714/? more performance friendly than original textures
Requirements
This mod does not have any known dependencies other than the base game.
For this one I deleted many alpha channels (transparency), it's meant for people who still use '1k'. Here we have the same textures as for 'Best Choice', but without transparency they are half their size and much easier to render. As downside you will see some more seams on grounds and even animals covered by them... still better than '1k' I think ;)
Version 1.9
added more ground textures and improved the existing ones - 4k package 1.8 is still up to date
Finally added some better matching specular maps. The landscape doesn't just look better, furthermore '1k' and 'Best Choice' have become much more V-Ram friendly
Version 1.7
added some matching coast and land rocks to the beaches
finished some minor beach textures
made the beach set less V-Ram heavy (at least for 1k and Best Choice)
added a 4k package containing road gravel, many textures of the blasted forest set and the beaches together with their rocks
Version 1.6
added beach and coast grounds
Version 1.5
finally changed the main dirt/gravel texture to something more tasty
Added the blasted forest set - you might recognize some of the textures ;)
Version 1.4
optimised some older textures
added textures for dirt cliffs, Sanctuary's street, cobblestones and the wall under it's bridge
Version 1.3
1k and 2k archives contain Normal AND Diffuse maps of matching size now. Means the 2k package has been upgraded to be the HD one, use 'Best Choice' or even 1k if you are concerned about performance ;)
improved distant detail on many textures
added 'Best Choice' as main archive. It's a combination of all archives to provide best look together with best performance
Version 1.2
Sanctuary bridge looks quite acceptable now ;)
added some more ground textures and improved existing ones
added optional 'HD Normal Maps in 3Dc', the format Bethesda originally used - they are without any compression artifacts but less pronounced and twice as performance heavy as 'HD Normal Maps in DXT1'
Version 1.1
most wasteland grounds are covered by now, means worst seams are gone ;)
corrected the faulty dirthpath texture (error was most prominent between Sanctuary and Vault)
improved the texture for the sanctuary bridge... it's everything else than perfect and still in low resolution but for now it will do the job
fixed wrong filepaths for 'Vivid Fallout - Landscapes - HD Normal Maps'

This is an overhaul of original landscape textures and some new ones, I'm going to add more over time. Alternative archives in 2k(HD) and 1k for weeker systems are provided as well.
Most wasteland grounds are available by now, I will add the rest by time and replace the ones I dislike.
I just sharpened the textures somewhat, added new normal maps and a slight shadowing. However, the result looks quite good and...
the textures are less V-Ram heavy than the original ones!
P.S. If you don't like the added puddles just install my optional 'puddle remover' and they are gone. How to activate loose textures:
1. Copy the archives 'Data' folder to the 'Data' folder in your game directory
2. Locate C:\Users\MyName\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4.ini and add:
[Archive] bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
