thank you. it was in the beta but it was suddenly removed [we even told them] got no answer as to why they just told us well look into it... I used so many of these at the time
I've always been wary of adding cut content back into the game. They usually have a reason for removing it in the first place... Right? Maybe not. I'll just track this one for a while and see if someones computer transforms into a black hole or something.
It's highly unlikely to cause issues. it's just another piece of animated furniture. If I had to guess why they cut it, it would be either A) they felt it was strange to have a power conduit sticking up over the top of walkways, or B) they thought it was too OP to have a door raiders couldn't open, or C) it's a little hard to work with, as amahlaka points out.
But it's not because it turns your savegame into a singularity.
The obvious reason it was removed was because there's no way to control it from inside the vault. It was poorly designed and they'd have to start from scratch to make it work right (a door that is named when you place it and is then controlled from a computer terminal). They likely didn't have enough time to redo it after going down the wrong path.
I'd put my money on WardenWolf1982 being right. It's depending on wall pass-through conduits from another DLC to work properly so someone on the team probably thought it was bad form and just left it for modders to dig up.
It's not supposed to auto-close. It's power controlled. You apply power, it opens, you remove power, it closes. It's designed to be controlled by power circuits and logic gates.
I have that problem a lot of places with Vault-Tec. You really, really, really need to get the Place Everywhere mod. It's pretty much essential to building in Fallout 4. Solves the problem. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9424/?
Been digging myself. There's a water cooler under furniture, and clean versions of the "high-tech" lights (similar to those you'd unlock with the picket fences mag).
I have a theory that something big is happening within bethesda. There is a lot of evidence that resources, time and people have been pooled together away from some of the FO4 stuff to work on something else. Its also entirely possible it has something to do with their Fallout 4 VR project.
the meshes and textures were included in release, so it's possible if you already had it in your save, It remained. but they removed it from the Workshop menus.

Nevertheless, thank you for adding it once more!
