About this mod

Rebalanced Economy & Loot

Permissions and credits
Version 0.9

-Ammo boxes, coolers and first aid boxes now contain fitting "junk loot"
-Minor adjustments to food and water production
-Slightly more likely to find blood packs in first aid boxes

Description
This mod aims to rebalance the game's economy to require a smarter approach in managing supplies while maintaining the overall difficulty and keep looting fun and worthwhile. No more barging into raider dens unprepared, knowing you'll find ammo and stimpacks in every corner! Additionally, these changes greatly increase the usefulness of settlement building and some cheaper, underused items such as pipe guns and blood packs.

Contraptions DLC recommended but not required.

All these values have been manually balanced and tested, check below if you're interested in an explanation for some of these changes.

Lastly, I can't guarantee you won't end up with piles of cash and supplies by the end game, but sure as hell it's going to be way harder to get there!

Major changes

-The drop rate for ammo, meds, chems and food in containers is greatly decreased. Valuables and junk are slightly more common.
-First aid containers are more likely to contain blood packs.
-Raiders no longer use pre-war weapons, nor grenades. Will also wear less armor on average.
-Supermutants no longer use pre-war rifles (still use heavy weapons and explosives)
-Surplus from water production is now Dirty Water
-Surplus from crops greatly increased
-Settlement shops produce more caps
-Scavenger stations produce more, harder to find items. Added a small chance to acquire meat.
-Settlement general vendors now sell all types of raw resources, quantity depends on level
-Settlement weapon vendors sell more ammo

Compatibility
Despite far-reaching changes this is a very lightweight mod and mostly deals with leveled lists for loot, some enemies and settlement merchants.

Design, Q&A
Q:What's with blood packs being more common?
A:They're there to help with the shortage of stimpaks. They're very slow, so they won't save you in a fight, but you'll be glad they're there when you are low on health and no stimpaks in sight. So be on the lookout for those first aid boxes and save those stimpaks for when you really need them.

Q:What if I want a super hardcore experience?
A:You'll find the game will still be harder if you don't prepare carefully, but increasing difficulty is not the aim of this mod.

Q:Why nerf raiders and super mutants?
A:They are the most common enemies in the game and typically little more than loot piƱatas. Not anymore! They are meant to be a low risk-low reward enemies, killing them with your shiny high powered rifle might not be the most economical option, maybe you can find a use for all that .38 ammo that's been piling up in your backpack.
But either way that doesn't mean there isn't good loot where they hang around..

Q:Settlements now produce dirty water? WHAT IS THIS
A:Water purifiers require just a few resources for an infinite and substantial income, anyone who's done enough settlement building knows how overpowered they are. Scavenging and farming both require settlers working and they both got a buff, so that's where the money is now. You can still make decent money selling the water, just nowhere as much as before.

Q:Why changing settlement general vendors?
A:I used general vendors in settlements like twice during my time playing and both times I had to wade through literal junk until I found something that had the components I needed. Now they're effectively component vendors. Need 2 adhesive to make that sweet weapon mod? Go to the vendor and buy it, done.

Q:Will this mod break my computer and make my milk go bad?
A:I can't guarantee that it won't
