Commonwealth Challenges is a mod by me, Pokepunch, which aims to emulate and add to the challenges found in Fallout: New Vegas. The type of challenges range from simple “Kill [Enemy type]” or “Get Kills with [Weapon type/Weapon]” to others like “Pass Speech Checks”. Some challenges will provide a special perk which has up to 3 ranks. These perks are designed to offer a small advantage and are hopefully balanced (At least as balanced as the base game anyway.)

This is my first full-scale mod and so there may be bugs and oversights that I have missed. If you run into any issues please do tell me about them by commenting on the mods page, either on the Nexus or Bethesda.net. Do note that any un-helpful comments like “this mod doesnt work, fix it stupid” will be ignored or removed depending on how I'm feeling. When reporting an issue, try to give as much info as possible about it as you can. This gives me the best possible chance to find and fix the issue.

For the best experience, use on a new game.

New challenges may be added with updates, but I can’t promise it. I have grown tired of working on this mod and it is being released in a state I would consider unfinished, mainly due to not having as many challenges as I would have liked.

As previously mentioned, this mod adds Challenges which when completed give the player XP and provide special Perks.

1.0 - First upload.
1.1 - Fixed issue with rifle kills not being counted on the Good Ol' Reliable Rifles challenge.
1.2 - Fixed an issue with modified weapons and kill challenges.

The recommended way to install Commonwealth Challenges is using Nexus Mod Manager. If you however wish to install manually you probably know what you're doing. If you don't know how to install manually, simply extract the contents of the download into your Fallout 4 Data folder, normally located at
 - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data
This really isn't recommended.

I'm not sure about other mod managers like Mod Organizer, but if you are using it you should know how to install a simple mod like this and I'm sure you'll be fine.

None known currently. Post issues in the comments if you run into any.

I will try my hardest to keep challenges compatible with all official DLCs, without needing a patch if possible. I would like to avoid different version/ DLC patches as much as possible.

As for mods, I can’t see many incompatibilities occurring. If you do notice anything odd when using this mod with another do feel free to comment with your issues and I’ll see what can be done. However I’m not sure if I will work much more on this mod as I grew tired of working on it.

Special thanks to RiceCalculator for making the animated perk icon used in the mod!
I’d like to thank all my family and friends for their support, along with the helpful people on the Bethesda.net Creation Kit Forum for assisting me with issues and initial introduction to Papyrus scripting. Without them this mod wouldn't be possible.
