About this mod

Have you ever wanted a little more utility out of your Targeting HUD, like helping you to find bodies to loot? Have you ever felt like the targeting HUD is a little overpowered? Or are you willing to give up a little power for some utility? Then this is probably the mod for you.

Have you ever wanted a little more utility out of your Targeting HUD, like helping you to find bodies to loot, and identifying your companion in the fray of combat? Have you ever felt like the targeting HUD is a little overpowered, making you the sniping god of the commonwealth? Or are you willing to give up a little power for some utility? Then this is probably the mod for you.

This mod aims to make the targeting HUD less overpowered by limiting its range, and making it ineffective against invisible opponents. It also adds more utility, by identifying enemies which are targeting you at further ranges, identifying dead bodies on the ground, so you don't miss any loots, and highlighting your companion green so you know both where they are, and not to shoot them by accident.

This is the full list of changes:
  • Enemies will be the only ones highlighted in red.
  • Enemy highlighting is reduced significantly so you aren't just sniping everything. (This can be toggled off with Hacker 3.)
  • You will not be able to see invisible enemies any longer while they are actively in stealth (like the Assaultron stealth).
  • Enemies already in combat will show up at much further ranges, helping you to identify battlefields and potential immediate threats faster.
  • Dead bodies will be highlighted in blue, but in a short range. (Range can be extended with Hacker 2.)
  • Your ally will be highlighted in green whenever they are in combat. This will help you identify them in the fray of combat.
  • You can toggle on the ability to see all friendlies in green if you want. (Requires Hacker 2.)
  • Craft a Hotkey activator and a Settings Holotape with Hacker 1 at a Chemistry Station.
  • Should be compatible with all power armors (including mods), as well as the Targeting HUDs added by the Westek Tactical Goggles mod, and the armor mods in Research Projects and Armorsmith Extended.
  • Will not be compatible with other mods which change the Targeting HUD mechanics.



Known Issues:
  • For some strange reason, dead bodies placed by the game into levels do not appear as dead or alive. They don't get highlighted by anything. I do not know why this is, but all bodies which were at one point alive, do get highlighted blue.
