About this mod

An extra layer of challenge and immersion for Survival mode - play as a Children of Atom Zealot.

**This is my first in what I'm hoping will be a series of what I'm calling "Survival Challenge Saves". I drew my inspiration from Minecraft challenge maps - maps made by others that had specific survival mode challenges designed around a certain theme.**

In this first challenge you play as Dax, a Children of Atom Zealot from Far Harbor who has been sent to Kingsport Lighthouse to begin spreading Atom's Glow to the rest of the Commonwealth. The focal point of the game is completing the objectives on the Objective Board, which you will see immediately upon loading in. This being the first survival challenge save I have designed, the objectives are slightly simpler than future challenges may be.

In addition to the Objective Board, you begin the game with a few thematic benefits:

  • Your own Zealot's quarters near the lighthouse, complete with a trophy room that must be filled with collectibles and Children of Atom-themed artifacts from around The Commonwealth and Far Harbor.
  • Start at level 4 with 1 rank of the Rad Resistant perk and 1 rank of the Lead Belly perk.
  • Your own Zealot's marine armor and radium rifle.

Remember, this is a Survival Challenge; the game immediately starts in Survival mode so you will have to get going pretty quick. Despite the advantages you start with, you are also starting the game in a more difficult area of the map. The Commonwealth Children of Atom aren't as friendly as the ones in Far Harbor, so I definitely wouldn't stray too close to the crater nearby...

Also, this save relies on using the prebuilt "building plots" I've placed around Kingsport Lighthouse (you'll understand when you see them). As such, it's probably better to not delete them (besides the sconces and wall piece I use to mark all of them - again, you'll know it when you see it) or the objectives may not make as much sense :P Also, they were designed without adding more floorspace in mind, to see what people would come up with given a controlled amount of space. Finally, have fun! This was designed to be an extra layer on top of Survival Mode while also giving you something fun and immersive to do. If you enjoyed it, or have any suggestions, let me know in the comments.

*This save requires Automatron, Wasteland Workshop, and Far Harbor.
