About this mod
When starting a NEW survival game, this mod will keep fast travel as an option.
Does not re-enable on an existing save even if you use other mods to turn survival off and back on again.
Does work with characters who have never used survival difficulty if you change over to survival.

Not willing to play survival without fast travel? Here's a compromise solution.
Works with all current survival versions.
(Tested successfully up to 1.5.416)
This solution appears to be quite robust, it's still working with every new release of the game that I've tested it with. As such I'm considering this mod finished and not planning any further updates. At this stage I do not expect any further game versions to break this mod, but please contact me if they do and I will try to fix it. Since I'm not making any changes I won't update the version number, but despite being 0.1 this is no longer in alpha stage.
Important: This mod requires starting a new game or converting a non-survival character to survival.
* It will not work if you use an existing survival mode save even if you use other mods to turn survival mode off and back on again.
* It will work with save games that have never had survival mode active if you change them to survival difficulty.
Instructions
While the mod is installed, start a new game on Survival difficulty.
Alternatively you can take an existing non-survival character and switch to Survival difficulty while the mod is installed.
Your save will be marked as modded (M) but your character should be able to Fast Travel without issue.
All other features of Survival mode should be intact.
- Enable Fast Travel In Survival Mode by Hrenak.
- Say no to no fast travel by Kaj.
- I've been told (although I haven't tested it personally) that using a mod which replaces map.swf is currently resulting in fast travel still working in survival.
It removes the No Fast Travel rule off of the form list that the Hardcore Manager Script loads. This means that the script will run without ever having the No Fast Travel rule included in its processes.
What's the difference between this mod and other mods?
Most other mods that I've seen directly alter the variable itself rather than removing it from the list that the script loads. This means the script still has the no fast travel rule inside it. Personally I prefer this method as it means that the script doesn't have that value in there, however it does require starting a new game or editing the script in your save-game file. The choice however is up to you.
Once the hardcore manager script has loaded it already has the variable set up in there. The script keeps on running perpetually and is stored inside your save game. I can't use the same method on an active script. Even when you "switch off" survival mode, that script is still running inside your save file.
Can you make a mod to get the console working too?
Sorry, I couldn't figure this one out. Fortunately I didn't need to, Survival Mode Console by Zion9876 works for me when I've tested it.
Will you make this available for the XBox and PS4 via Bethesda.net?
Sorry but no. Nothing against these platforms but I don't own an XBox or PS4, so I'm unable to test this mod on those platforms and I won't release a mod that I can't test since that might risk breaking games. However if you are another mod author who does use these platforms and would like to volunteer to help bring this mod to those platforms please contact me and I would be happy to work together on it.
Will you make this available for the PC via Bethesda.net?
Probably not. I like having the mod available from one central site, since it makes it easier to communicate with my users about bugs, updates and similar. I vastly prefer the interface on the Nexus so this is where my mods live for the moment. However if you would like this to be available for PC on Bethesda.net please let me know, if this is something people really want then I can start mirroring my mods over there too.
