About this mod

Adds a new, extremely basic robot companion.

Permissions and credits
This mod adds a new, basic follow-package companion named "Clamps". Clamps is a Melee-Form Utility Protectron, and can be created and hired after completing a short, unmarked quest. You need to head to of of the Commonwealth's many factories (to find out exactly which one, either search around, or check the Images tab of the mod) and find a "Utility Protectron Model" hidden in a locked room (again, check the Images tab if you can't find the room). Once you unpack the model, you'll be given the "Clamps Constructor" perk, and will be able to build Clamps from the "Special" section of your settlement build menu. Clamps requires a LOT of parts to make, but none of them are especially rare. Once he's been built, you can "hire" and "dismiss" him by facing
him and pressing the reload key (default "R"). While Clamps is hired, he will follow you around the gameworld, and will engage anyone hostile to you in combat. His outer casing/armor can be damaged, but Clamps himself is essential, so if he's "killed", he'll eventually wake back up like the vanilla companions do. When you dismiss Clamps, he will travel to Sanctuary Hills, where he'll stay until you hire him again. Clamps is set to level with the player 1:1, so he should remain a viable companion to even late-game players.

=====AUTOMATRON DLC=====

As of the Automatron DLC, Clamps is now able to be healed with Robot Repair Kits, and can be modded in the Robot Workbench. Automatron Clamps comes with the lowest level of the Utility Protectron armor on his arms, hands, head, and legs, Utility Protectron melee vice grips (aka "clamps"), and a Yellow paint job. He is able to be equipped with all vanilla protectron mods, and should also be able to use any new User-created robot mods, as long as those mods' authors add them to the vanilla lists.
