Optional upgrade to version 0.3 "Thought You Died" is now available for download. ; )

This mod tweaks several underpowered and obtrusive legendary weapon and armor mods to make them more effective or less intrusive to gameplay. 80% quality of life and 20% buff. 100% balanced.

I might add more pictures later but there shouldn't really be need for any. I could also make a comparison of vanilla and modded chameleon effects but I really don't want to see that ugly tint/bloom ever again.

Description

This mod is designed primarily for my own use, and should make several legendary mods more fitting for higher difficulty play, where the player cannot afford to take many hits to their health, and where enemies are powerful enough to warrant some extra bang for your buck when it comes to choosing your legendary arsenal. However, it can be used for any kind of difficulty or gameplay pace. This is not an overhaul.

No legendary mod has been nerfed in any way aside from Nimble, and even that can be debated about - anyone who has used a Nimble weapon in FO4 can probably figure out what could possible be wrong about it, or that's how I feel anyway.

List of original (0.2) changes

  • Chameleon legendary enchantment's magnitude has been increased slightly and its magic effect has had its image space adapter (intrusive tint/fade and transition) completely removed from the effect. Just pure stealth/camo. QoL. See the video.
  • Duelist modification melee disarm chance increased from 10% to 20%. More noticeable effect and better usability on higher difficulties.
  • Freefall modification (found in unique Freefall Legs) is just another version of Acrobat - their effects are identical. Altered description to reflect this. QoL.
  • Safecracker modification lockpicking sweet spot effect slightly increased (from 2 to 2.5). Better usability. Might increase further in future.
  • Martyr legendary enchantment slow time effect now procs at 30% health instead of 20%. Better usability, and should work better together with Nerd Rage.
  • Poisoner's modification is renamed to "Antidote" and has doubled effectiveness. Better usability, especially on higher difficulties.
  • Punishing legendary enchantment melee damage reflect doubled. Better usability on higher difficulties.
  • Bolstering legendary enchantment(s) now provide up to 45 damage/energy resistance, scaling with the pace of 5 DR/ER for every missing 10% health (up from 4 for every missing 10% health). Better usability, especially on higher difficulties.
  • Freezing legendary enchantment now actually deals cryo damage and should have a tiny radius for its critical hit effect. More noticable effect and support for actual cryo damage effects if you use any gameplay mods which add them.
  • Frenzy legendary enchantment now lasts 50% longer (30s to 45s) and should have a tiny radius to it. Better usability.
  • Nimble legendary enchantment should now only occur while aiming down the sights and when not sneaking. QoL - the movement speed was horribly obtrusive while sneaking and aiming down sights. If the player doesn't have Sneak rank 4, it could actually ruin sneaking while aiming.
  • Plasma Infused modification damage increased from 10 to 15. More in line with Freezing and Incendiary mods.
  • Two Shot legendary enchantment now actually doubles count of projectiles instead of merely adding one. Insanely useful even before this fix, but now also for shotguns and such.

If you want any similiar tweaks to underpowered legendary mods, let me know in the comments.

The mod modifies both the legendary mods as well as several enchantment records and other things they apply. Not compatible with mods which edit legendary mods, but it should be possible to override changes from my mod with another by loading Legendary Mods Plus before said mod's plugins.
