Settlement Objects Expansion Pack (SOE Pack)

Structure Power Transmit Function

1. Introduction

The ability to transmit power through structure objects is first introduced in DLC Contraptions Workshop with the conduit set and later in DLC Vault-Tec Workshop with snappable power conduit on vault walls. With the new power transmit function, users can avoid using wire all over their settlements, easier to power objects and manage power transmission.

2. How it works

In order to transmit power through multiple structure objects, the objects must be snap together with connect points (simply touching each other would not do the job), in other words, the game engine transmit power through structure by recognizing snap points.

1. Power source ->
2. Snapped conduit on any designated snap point of structure objects to mount wire ->
3. Power through the structure objects (which set with the power transmit properties) ->
4. Output through a snapped conduit for use

So, a working structure power transmission network should include the following:

- A dedicated power source with possible wire connection
- Conduits that act as the power input/output for the structure objects
- Structure objects that set to transmit power*

*In other words, NOT all structure objects will transmit power by default, the mod authors/Bethesda has to set the structure with corresponding properties as to allow it to transmit power by snap points.

3. Function in SOE Pack

As of v1.5.3 of SOE Pack, most structure objects have been set to transmit power through snap points, except doors and door walls. Structure objects that built before v1.5.3 may require you to select and replace them again to refresh the function.

Among all structure objects, floors and walls are set with snap points for you to snap the power conduits which currently compatible with the Advanced Power Conduit (Mounted) in this mod and Vault Power Conduit in DLC Vault-Tec Workshop.

Floors (regular/upper floors)

Floors are set with 5 snap points on each top and bottom, you can snap the floor and ceiling version of power conduit on it.

Walls (regular/multi story walls)

Walls are set with 3 snap points on each side, you can snap the wall version of power conduit or vault one in the DLC on it.

I would like to lock the doors in order to prevent followers and companions to access a specific area. I'm currently using this mod, https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/21074 whose terminals need no power so should perfectly work with SOE. Basically the terminal, once activated, does a search of all accessible doors and devices with remote control. Is there any alternative?

I'm really looking forwards for a solution to this.

    Cheers!
