About this video

This is my first of what I hope to be a series of creation kit tutorial videos.  If you open it in youtube I have time stamps in the description.  I know there's already a few navmesh videos, but I figured it doesn't hurt to have more resources.

This is an awesome intro. I was kind of terrified of navmeshing so hadn’t done any yet, but this makes it look super easy. Also, thanks for (eventually) including how to get into the navmesh menu.

I discovered a weird work around in-game. At Abernathy Farm in the house interior, those convoluted steps that go to the top level of their tower are navmeshed to help them get up there, I presume. I discovered it because I was using Scrap Everything to get rid of the lame vanilla stairs and upgrade their staircase, when suddenly I found myself walking on air. Now I know Scrap Everything is “bad” because it breaks precombines, but whatever. Important thing is I learned something. I assume what happened was that I deleted the object but not the navmesh attached to it. I then went on and deleted the navmesh because it wasn’t the degree of slope I wanted for my interior makeover.

Anyway, my point is I thought that architecture items in the CK that included floors and stairs and stuff were themselves already navmeshed. So is this not the case?

      Thank you for the feedback.

Hmmm my understanding, working in the ck, you have to manually navmesh everything, even the water.

Nice to hear from you :)

Well, that certainly explains why everyone keeps falling through the dugouts on my heavily modified Fenway Park Restoration project I've been tinkering with off and on. LOL Now I know how to fix it!

Glad to see you active again. I've learned much from your tutorials over the years. Happy 4th of July, and thank you for everything!

Always a good thing to have tutorials - I have learned most of my modding in FO4 and Skyrim from them.

definitely. I've learned so much from other tutorials that it makes me want to make my own to give back to the community. I think the hardest part about modding is finding information.
