Special Thanks

While I did the editing, I wouldn't have had the slightest clue of where to start. Killa B posted the changes that needed to be done in the comment thread of the original file. So praises be unto him for his code wizardy, or codezardry,

What It Is
----------
This is a modified version of WJS7744's Enhanced Vision Modes, essentially with the Powered Armor requirement removed utterly and replaced by simply needing to have the PIPBoy. In the comments people were wanting this updated for the DLC's as well as with the Space Marine armor. I myself simply wanted to remove the requirement of wearing heavy armor, since I'm playing a more stealthy character.

Unlike the file's creator, I don't see any problem with working it into the game lore. We have examples of cyborgs that can pass for human, after all, as well as technologically advanced extraterrestrials. I'm sure some mad genius out in the Fallout world could rig up a sort of cybernetic implant and processor to allow for this sort of Heads=Up Display. Finding justification for it on your character is your job, not mine. ;)

What It Does
------------
Upon loading, this ought to give you an item in your Armor section called , it ought to be at the top. Binding this to a hotkey will allow you to access it, and utilize two altered modes of vision.

Nightvision is, of course, the green tinted landscape we're all familiar with from other games, TV shows, movies, and so forth. It allows you to see things somewhat easier at night, though it's kind of hard to see things sometimes.

IFF gives things a bit of a tinting, teammates are green, baddies are red, corpses are blue. It also outlines most traps in a similar red coloration. If you're familiar with the red and green outlines that things had in previous Fallout games, it is essentially a version of that. It's helped me a great deal at night when I'm trying to find bodies to loot after I've chased after a fleeing foe and don't quite remember where I was before.

Overall it's worked quite nicely for me.

The original mod was made by WJS7744 and can be found at the following link:

As he seems to have vanished from the community, and people are clamoring for a way to use this in other ways, I feel that I'm justified in making this little tweak and uploading it myself.

If you want to alter, improve, or distribute this mod in a mod of your own, please remember to credit WJS7744 for the original perk and myself for the alterations.
