About this mod

An addon for AlexScorpion\'s PipBoy 5000. REQUIRES HIS MOD.

Permissions and credits
Ladies and gentlemen - let me intoduce myself. I'm merely a person you've never heard of, probably will never hear of again, and most likely, you may not want to. I do not butter myself up with false notions of greatness, and as such, I shall never pass them on to the dearest reader and mod user.

The great and wonderful AlexScorpion has released a mod, the "PipBoy 5000", which is a great replacer for the original pipboy. Small, sleek, and beautiful. However, I was fiddling around with Paint.NET (a freeware, photoshop-like image editor), and decided to open up his texture - next thing you know, it's got USB jacks and audio ports.

So, I decided that I'd go ahead and release a skin with my new "additions". Nothing really major - audio jacks, USB and a monitor-looking jack, just some miscellanious. Nothing that really sticks out, but it kind of neat IF you do see them. I only did the Black skin - I'm on dialup, and I just can't justify downloading the Steel version, and sticking some jacks on it, because it's SO DAMN SIMPLE to do it yourself. Refer to the bottom.

INSTALLATION

Okay, long story short, install AS's PipBoy 5000. Then, go to your data files, textures, Scorptech, and make a backup of the PIP.dds. Just in case you decide my mediocre work doesn't deserve a place in your game, you see. Now, pick your favoured PipBoy skin, and put it in the same folder. You should then be done!

CONTACT

I'm on the Official Bethsoft boards as Ashven. I will not answer my email, so I shall not give it out. If that fails (and it shouldn't!) you can find me on the Wormhole forums as Ashven, as well. That, of course, it less reliable, as the inbox is not as noticeable.

CREDITS

To AlexScorpion, the mastermind of my whole idea. I used his textures as the base for my little replacer.

Bethesda, for making the kind of ugly PipBoy 3000 that AS decided to replace. And an awesome game, at that!

I suppose I'll list myself, as well...but mostly as a formality.

THE NOT SO SECRET PROCESS OF HOW I DID THIS!
___________________________________________

All I did was find a generic image of common computer ports, and save it. Then, I opened the
PIP.DDS and the image, and copy/pasted the parts onto the pipboy in a new layer. After that,
I used the paintbrush to cut out the contrast, and then the Clone brush tool to remove the
seams.

If you look close (in your image editor) you'll probably see seams anyways, but in-game, it's
pretty good looking.
