Capital Wasteland.

Details
=======
As a post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland filled with raiders, slavers, and all-around "tough guys,"
Hokuto Shinken would be quite at home in this setting. However, Unarmed and Melee combat are
extremely underpowered in Vanilla gameplay. This mod increases the playability of unarmed combat
builds by adding several buffs and abilities via a Perk based loosely on Hokuto Shinken.

Perk: Hokuto Shinken
Requirements: Level 7, Strength 7, Perception 7, Endurance 7, Agility 7, Unarmed 40 (these are base
values, buffs from equipment will not be used to meet requirements; one or more of these may be cut
off on the Perk selection screen due to space limitations)
Ranks: 5
Description: With this perk, you will learn the ancient Eastern assassination art of Hokuto Shinken.
Your body will become further strengthened by the training, but you'll be at your best when using
Hokuto Shinken. With each rank, you will learn a new technique that will allow you to perform
amazing feats during unarmed combat, decimating your opponents.

When you take this Perk, the max Damage Resistance value will be changed from 85% to 95%. You will
also get several buffs that increase your unarmed combat abilities, some of which are conditional to
wearing a special weapon or reaching Unarmed mastery. A special weapon will also be added to your
inventory, a pair of "invisible" brass knuckles called Hokuto Shinken. It is a Quest item, so it can
never be taken from you nor dropped. This weapon has been tweaked to allow you to deal maximum
unarmed damage, as well as being enchanted with five abilities based on the assassination art. As of
v1.2, you also get a leather armor called the "Successor's Attire." This armor has about the damage
rating of Power Armor, but more weight and less health than standard leather armor. It is slightly
more valuable than leather armor and can be repaired with other leather armor or through a
merchant.It can be dropped and taken away from you, but you cannot sell it. With all Specials
unlocked, wearing the knuckles, and at maximum armor condition, the player should have 85% Damage
Resistance. Taking the Toughness perk will give you the maximum 95% rating under these conditions.

*Touki
At Rank 1, you will gain the ability to project your battle aura as a projectile attack. It consumes
20 AP per use, uses the Unarmed skill for damage calculation, and can be fired as fast as you can
attack. The ability to use it is enabled and disabled with a player-set hotkey and it launches
whenever you attack.

*Hokuto Dankotsukin:
At Rank 2 and 45 Unarmed, you will be able to cripple any random limb. Certain combat skills and
SPECIAL stats of the opponent are reduced depending on limb crippled. Will no longer cripple an
already crippled limb. If all limbs are crippled, damage equivalent to Unarmed/X (X can be 5, 6.5,
8) will be applied.

*Tomon Ketsu Hashisho:
At Rank 3 and 65 Unarmed, a chance of crippling the opponent's entire body. Certain combat skills
and SPECIAL stats of the opponent are reduced. If all limbs are crippled, damage equivalent to
Unarmed/X (X can be 5, 6.5, 8) will be applied.

At Rank 4 and 80 Unarmed, a chance of exploding the opponent's head after 3 seconds. Will suffer
certain cripple effects and results in death.

At Rank 5 and 90 Unarmed, a chance of exploding the opponent's entire body after 7 seconds. Will
suffer certain cripple effects and results in death.

*Tenryu Kokyuho
At Rank 5 and Unarmed mastery, you gain the ability to unlock the full 100% potential of your body's
capabilities. At the cost of all your current AP, you will become impervious to damage, will
regenerate a small amount of health, and have increased fighting potential. Activated via a player-
set hotkey and lasts for AP used/X seconds (X can be 7, 9.1, 11.2).

*Kisha Acupressure Point
At 9 Perception, your opponent will be stunned and unable to move when affected by Haganken. Has a
5% chance of occuring at all Ranks with Perception 9 or greater, otherwise has a 1% chance of
occurring. Always has a 75% chance of occurring with Zankaiken (when mastered), regardless of
Perception.

Install
=======
1. Download latest Full Package version.
2. Extract the files to your Fallout 3\Data folder.
3. Check Hokuto Shinken.esp in FOMM.


Uninstall
=========
Just delete the Hokuto Shinken.esp file and the ...\Sound\fx\HOKUTO folder.

Incompatibility
===============
This mod was built on the 1.4.0.6 patch. It has been tested and works with the Operation Anchorage,
The Pitt, and Broken Steel DLCs.

No NPCs, items, locations, enchants, etc were altered. The only incompatibilities might be with mods
that alter maximum Damage Resistance, melee/unarmed combat game settings, or turn AP regen on and
off. Mods that change your AP regen rate should not be affected.

If you encounter any bugs or issues, please let me know so I can try to fix it.

Known Issues or Bugs
====================
1) Effects screen will show "Hokuto Shinken" when the Hokuto Shinken weapon is equipped. This is due
to conditional buffs in the Perk that rely on you actually using Hokuto Shinken via the weapon.
2) New Technique music will not play until after message boxes are OK'd.
3) There is some weirdness due to the update script. Depending on what is changed between versions,
you may get the Mastery message again for any Specials you've unlocked. Managed to fix the "Max DR
raised" message, but not the others.
4) If you load a save and then load a different one with an older version of the mod, the weapon
effects may be bugged and not work properly. Restarting the game and then loading the save seems to
fix this.
5) It has been reported that the condition of the armor may not degrade. I have not been able to
reproduce this bug, but be aware that it may occur. There should be no adverse effects.
