Beta version 080

RobCo Stealth and Storage adds stealth and inventory support to your RobCo Certified repaired robots.

BETA - appears to work with one minor annoyance (see below).

You will be given 10 "Robot Stealth Modules" on installing this mod. Crouch to access your 'bot's inventory and drop one of these modules in. Now when you crouch your 'bot will go into "cloak" mode.

This mod requires TalkieToaster's RobCo Certified robot repair mod. This is an add-on to that mod.

IMPORANT NOTE: Remember to load this mod *after* RobCo Certifed!

This mod is BETA. I need help testing it. It was the best solution I could come up with after tweaking for several hours.

STEALTH MODULES

You are given 10 upon installation. You can also buy them from Moira Brown at Craterside Supply in Megaton. You only need to drop one in each robot you want to cloak when you sneak.

STEALTH MODE

If your RobCo Certified repaired robot has a Stealth Module in its inventory, it will do the following when you sneak: set aggression to lowest level, set assistance to lowest level, enter sneak mode (whether this even works for 'bots I do not know), appear transparent and glowy blue (I was originally using the stealthboy "chameleon" effect, but it was too hard to keep track of my 'bots.)

Stealth mode forces the robot to remain out of combat, and forces those who would attack him to ignore him (it).

Be careful! Your 'bot will remain in cloak mode even when you are attacked, until you stand for a second to release him (it)! All other methods that I tried made the robot exit cloak mode way too early and often. This way you can force the robot to remain out of combat as long as you crouch. However, if you don't remember or realize it in the heat of battle, you could wind up crouching with your sniper rifle and wondering why your 'bot's not engaging. Hit the sneak key twice quickly and he (or they) will be released and immediately engage the enemy.

NOTE: If you stand (un-sneak) during combat, your robot will exit cloak mode and will not re-enter it again, even if you crouch, until all nearby threats have been eliminated.

ONE WEIRD ISSUE: You will notice that if you are engaged in combat and still crouching, the robot will be in cloak mode but will be going nuts trying to engage in combat. He may start to talk some crap and raise his weapons (although he will *not engage or be engaged* until you stand again.) I can't figure out why this is happening yet, so I just threw in some electric arc noises while this is happening and you can chalk it up to a conflict in his programming as he tries to obey two conflicting orders (to defend his captain, or cloak as commanded??) :)

STORAGE

This is the same as my "RobCo Storage Module" mod. If you have that mod delete it and replace it with this one.

Crouch to access your robot's inventory.

BETA BETA BETA

This mod appears to work, in that it forces the robot to remain out of combat. I have not tested the bot's behavior in a variety of situations... I would appreciate feedback on this, or even a suggestion of a better solution, if anyone has one... or a clue as to why the robot continues to attempt to engage in your defense, even when his assistance is set to zero...?
