In spite of its unique design and poor placement, Vault 17 was used by roughly 15 refugees when the nukes fell. However, Vaulttech had other plans......

10 days after the vault was sealed, an experimental strain of Solanum was released into the vent system.
Though the virus caused massive hemorrhaging in the liver, the victims still arose, hungry for flesh.....



I wanted this map to be somewhat realistic, so I buffed a few guns to help you deal with the nasty damage output of the ghouls (zombies) inside the vault.

Be careful, the monsters inside do massive damage.



To play this file, extract "Vault 17.esp", and place it in your Data folder (C:/Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Fallout 3/Data)
When you start the launcher, click "Data" and check the box next to "Vault 17"

The storm drain can be found on the river bank, near the Springvale school. From the playground at the school, head toward the river, and jump down in. Follow the river left until you see a drain pipe.

The Vault can be accessed through the storm drain. Simply find your way to it inside the drains.


Once inside the storm drains, follow the right wall and keep looking down to find a fully loaded, Silenced 10mm pistol.
There is also a sawed-off shotgun inside the Maintenance Room.

Includes a buff to all Feral Ghouls, the sawed off shotgun, the 10mm silenced pistol, and the laser pistol.

The sawed-off shotgun now does 150 base dmg, and is no longer used by any npcs. The critical damage is raised to 200.

The silenced 10mm pistol now does 50 base dmg, uses only 11 action points, and is no longer used by any npcs. The critical damage is raised to 100.

The laser pistol now does 40 base damage,only used 10 action points, and is no longer used by any npcs. The critical damage is raised to 20.


The Feral Ghouls have the following changes:

The Red ghoul now does 30 damage, and has had its reach lowered to 50.

The Ghoul in the tank top now does 75 damage, no change in reach.

The Armored Ghoul now does 100 damage, reach lowered to 50.

Changes made in 2.0:

1. removed accidental copies of 2 doors in the storm drains.
2. (SPOILER ALERT): added a light in the room with the mini-deathclaw, and made the mini-deathclaw quite a bit larger.
3. Overturned a chair in the theater.
4. Added more clutter to the kitchen.
5. Added clutter in some of the bedrooms.
6. Added ammunition in various places for the 10mm and shotgun. (Details below)
7. Added various details to preexisting scenes.

There is now a 10mm pistol, and a box of 30 10mm shells in the blood room.
There is now a box of 10 shotshells with the sawed-off shotgun.




Changes made in 3.0:

1. Added a map marker to help you locate the Storm Drains. (Thanks, Veklon!)
2. Significantly lowered damage done by all ghouls. (Watch out though, you can still get one-shotted by some of the more powerful ones).
3. Raised damage done by Roaches to 10 (from 2), lowered their HP to 5 (from previous 20).
4. Added a small maintenance room off of the Theatre. (lots of detail - and some loot)
5. Buffed the Laser Pistol (details below), and added 2 laser pistols (with ammo) to the map.
6. Added various details to preexisting scenes.

Laser Pistol updates:

Raised damage to 40 (from 12)
Lowered VATS action points to 10 (from 17)
Raised critical damage to 20 (from 12)
This weapon is no longer used by any npcs
