!Warning!
This mod completely redecorates the player house in Megaton. Do not use this with a preexisting game. Only with a new character. Most of the default containers have been removed so you will lose all of your stuff and other problems might occur. So ONLY use this mod if you are starting a new game. I have tested this mod and use it with no problems in my own game but I have not tested adding it to a preexisting game (where I entered the house prior to adding this mod). You have been warned.

Installation
Simply add the included "Megaton House Remix.esp" file to your Fallout 3 Data directory and activate it as you would any other mod. Note that "Megaton House Remix Secretary.esp" is an optional/incomplete add on to the house mod. Read the description of that mod at the bottom of this readme and decide if it is for you. Otherwise do not install the Secretary add on.

Description
This mod basically redesigns the furniture layout of the player house you receive in Megaton. I have removed almost all of the default furniture in the house and added new furniture, while moving some necessary items to more practical locations. For example I have moved the workbench to the upstairs catwalk area between the infirmary and lab. I have also move the bobblehead display into the small display room upstairs. The goal was to redesign the home to be more functional and visually appealing while looking like a nice place to live. I went for the aesthetic of a private investigators office, so there is a lot of pre-war decor. I also added a lot of features with companion NPCs in mind.

General changes
I added several idle nodes for NPCs so any companions who can use them will do things like sweep the floor or look around the kitchen. I remade the navmesh so that NPCs can move about the newly arranged house better. Some of the decor is now tied to the functional house add ons (like the radio, workbench and lab). I have removed all of the Theme items, so buying a theme will get you nothing (and is not tested!) so just don't waste your money on themes. The house is decorated by default so you either like it or don't download it.

Compatibility
This mod will likely conflict with most mods that adds or makes changes to the Megaton player house. Because I moved the bobblehead display and workbench, mods which change those items in particular could be a problem depending on what those mods change. For example if a workbench mod changes how all workbenches in the game work there should not be a problem since all I changed was the location.

Bonus

"Megaton House Remix Secretary.esp"

This file adds an NPC to your Megaton house named Rebecca Stone. The reason I created this house mod was to create the feel of a Film Noir Detective player character. Rebecca Stone acts as your secretary. She has a pretty diverse behavior. She sleeps, eats (in the house and in Megaton), Types away at her desk and walks around the house smoking and just looking kind of bored. Unfortunately she has no dialogue or practical function so she is just for looks. I'm just not good with dialogue and scripts. She does add character to the house and it is cool that whenever I come home she is always doing something different (or out of the house doing her own thing)! Again, I would consider this is an incomplete add on to the Megaton House Remix mod, so only use if you don't mind her just for aesthetics.
