FEATURES
This mod introduces a new faction named Potomac Express Company which works in the postal sector. It runs its business at Canterbury Commons, in the building replacing the ruins behind Joe Porter's diner.

Mailboxes are the core of the mod. Lots of these devices have been placed in the Capital Wasteland and populated habitats. They are used by Player for mailing letters and parcels all over the region.
Letters can be used to arrange "remotely" a meeting with your followers. After having received Player's message, the follower will go to the appointed location at the right time. If player doesn't go to the meeting within the time limit, the follower will go back to last locations he/she used to stay.
Parcels can be used for moving objects from a mailbox to Player's home or to company's posts set up in the main towns. Parcels are also a good way to send requested items to the NPCs who give repeatable quests and to get back the respective rewards.
For all cases, delivery time is computed from distance between the place of dispatch and the place of delivery while shipping fees are determined by distance, weight of parcel and purchased security services.

Staff working in the express company is composed of three typologies of employees.
Couriers are NPCs who travel through the Capital Wasteland with packed brahmins and security officers. Their main task is to deliver mail but they also send letters and parcels, acting like a mailbox. Couriers rarely enter in the cities but it's easy to find them just outside the gates, waiting for few hours before starting new routes.
Mailbots are protectron robots programmed to offer basic services like sending letters and parcels and delivering incoming mail, in particular the general delivery one. Some of them may offer to the customers home delivery too. They are the counterparty of couriers: instead of travelling in the Wasteland, they stay inside the town and manage local mail.
Office managers are permanent workers at the Company office. They offer basic and advanced services: shipment of letters and parcels, management of general delivery, insurance and parcel recovery affairs, personnel recruitment.

Shipments: every time the mail goes, there's a chance that it can be lost during carriage. This risk ratio is computed from many external factors. Specifically, the risk ratio varies in proportion to the distance between the place of dispatch and the place of delivery, to the dangerous creatures and raiders killed by Player (the more you kill, the safer is the Wasteland), to the events relating to main and secondary quests (e.g. risk grows when the Enclave arises after "the Water of life" quest or decreases if Big Town is no more threatened by Supermutants).
Senders have the opportunity to hire extra guards protecting the caravan in order to decrease risk ratio. It's also available an insurance over the value of the items wrapped in the parcel which will be returned in case of attack against the caravan.
Shipments end in one of three ways. If the shipment arrives unscathed to destination, the addressee will receive the goods and will reply to sender.
If the caravan is attacked by savage creatures, the parcel will not reach the destination but it will remain at the place of the attack because animals don't seize goods. In second time, the parcel will be recovered by the company staff and stored in the headquarters safes until the sender goes to pick up the parcel at Canterbury Commons and gets part of insurance premium (if previously enrolled). If the caravan is attacked by raiders, all of the goods will be stolen and sender will receive the whole amount of insurance premium (if previously enrolled) as compensation for the lost.

Assignements: the headquarters managers are always looking for adventurers and daredevils who take charge of tasks which permanent couriers can't carry. If Player accepts, he/she has to carry the parcel to the destination in a limited time and without fast travel. Each delivery done is rewarded with an amount of caps that decreases if estimated delivery time doesn't match with real delivery time.
Almost all NPCs of the game can be the addressee of a delivery.

Customization: this mod tries to interface to the other ones that add new followers, new homeplaces or new settlements to vanilla game.
Non-vanilla followers can be added in the list of addressees by talking to them when they use a following AI package pointed to Player.
Most of the containers in the game can be set as personal mailbox as long as they are located inside Wasteland and DCWorld worldspaces or in its internal cells. Setting personal mailbox inside cells not included in these cases may be affected the accuracy of delivery parameters.
A working Mailbot can be moved in the cells of Wasteland and DCWorld worldspace too. The robot can be found inside the headquarters of Potomac Express Company in Canterbury Commons.

RECOMMENDED MODS
Two patches available to improve game experience: the first one for BlackWolf Backpack mod which adds backpacks to courier's and caravan guard's equipments, the second one for Banks of Wasteland Expanded mod which allows to mail caps to Player's bank account.
Original mods needed.

KNOWN ISSUES
This mod aims to be minimally invasive as possible in order not to conflict with the largest number of mods. Anyway, mods which edit the area around the company's headquarters at Canterbury Commons may cause mesh overlaps (ones known: Canterbury Commons Overhaul, Canterbury Commons Embiggened).
