For very dark nights. Doesn't cause any ground light glitches.

UPDATE:
I made a new version of the mod (Alternative Megaton Lighting Plus), that adds more lights and lighting effects (just for the looks, no actual light sources). There are two options (files) to choose from: one with glow effects around neon signs, and one without glow effects around neon signs. Check the screenshots!

Description:
There are many lights around Megaton, but none of them generate actual light. This isn't a problem if you are playing a vanilla game, where the nights are quite bright, but if you are using a mod that makes nights really dark, then Megaton will look ridiculous with its "dark light beams".
Leaping Lizard's amazing Megaton Lighting Overhaul mod would be perfect, if Fallout 3's engine could handle lighting well. But it can't, as I found out after installing his mod. In many places the lights disappeared and the ground turned dark after looking at different angles, and it was very noticable and immersion breaking for me (and may be for many of you too).
So I decided to make my own lighting mod for Megaton, but in the process I found out that this ground lighting glitch is caused by the dozens of new light sources added by MLO, and the glitch appears only when there are more than one light sources per cell. So this mod was created with this "one light source per cell" game engine limitation in mind.

What this very simple mod does:
-Adds two light sources to Megaton, one to the entrance where there are those two big spotlights, and one to the plaza where there are many little lights around. This makes the entrance, the central area and the main routes in Megaton less pitch-black at night. Of course both light sources activate only after sunset, just as the other lights do, so daytime brightness is not modified.
-Removes some lights with their light beams that don't fit the brightness of their respective area.
-Removes the glow around the neon lights and around that big atom statue near the Craterside Supply (optional, see UPDATE).

I optimised this mod for Echelon117's amazing The Road Warrior Weather mod, but it should work well with other mods, that make nights darker, too (though it may not look like exactly as I intended).

Installation (manual):
Unpack the content of the MegatonLighting.rar to the Fallout 3\Data folder and activate the MegatonLighting.esp.

Uninstallation:
Remove the MegatonLighting.esp from the Fallout 3\Data folder.

Load order:
You should always load this mod BEFORE any weather modifying mods, so that their unique "MegatonWorld" "Worldspace" settings overwrite this mod's settings.
You should load this mod AFTER Fellout and any other mod, that modifies lights (the "Megaton01320" light, to be specific).
Obviously there may be conflicts with mods that modify and move objects (lights) in Megaton, though not necessarily.

If you are not sure, you can easily check conflicts in FO3Edit, there are only a few entries modified and added by this mod.

Constructive criticism is appreciated :)
