About this mod

Simple mod that removes the 200 xp bonus after you first leave the Vault.

Permissions and credits
So you just left the Vault and set your eyes onto the wide open world for the first time. You eyes are suddenly blinded by the bright light of the sun and just when your eyes finally have adjusted to light and you can see the vast open expanse of the DC Wasteland... "cue the scratching record" as the game pauses with blaring music letting you now that it is now time to level up! THANK YOU FOR KILLING THE MOOD BETHESDA!!

This is a simple mod that removes the 200 XP bonus that the player is reworded with when they first exit the Vault and sets there eyes for the first time on the DC Wasteland, effectively removing this little annoyance at the start of the game. The idea behind this mod came when I was watching an old Let's Play by Gopher, were he really got annoyed with the level up right after you leaving the vault. So I made this.A simple but effective script edit to the quest that removes the 200 XP reward at the end the quest "Escape!"

Warning: This mod is not guaranteed to stop the level up after you leave vault. It only stops the 200 XP reward after the completion of the quest "Escape!" That means it is possible to to still gain 200 XP points before leaving the vault. As the game is hard coded to not grant you your first level up until after the completion of "Escape!", it is suggested that you do everything you can to NOT earn XP. Some suggestions are, for starters, set the difficulty to Very Easy. This might go against Hardcore players but the vanilla game adds an experience gain multiplier to the games difficulty setting. Simply put, setting the game to Very Hard rewards you 50% more XP while setting the game to Very Easy give you 50% less XP. Other things you can do is to avoid Fights, Computer Hacking, Lock Picking, Speech Checks or anything else that will earn you XP. Now, I've played on Normal difficulty and made less then 200 XP easy just by playing normally, so you don't need to worry to much about going over 200 XP before completion of the quest. Just don't go out of you way to make as much XP as you can. If that's your goal, don't bother with this mod and save a spot in your load order.

Compatibility:

Compatible with all mods except those that make changes to the Main Quest, "Escape!".
