About this mod

A simple range finder for maximum viewing distance.

Permissions and credits
This is a really simple range finder utility weapon for viewing at maximum distances. I found that I ended up using sniper rifles to see where I was planning to go, but that they were insufficient for viewing as extremely long distances. I used the HUD overlay from Operation: Anchorage (included texture), and the standard Laser Pistol models, for maximum compatibility. I suggest running this with a numerical range mod, such as the one included with Gopher's Advanced Recon Night Vision ( http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/15653/ ). I will add a similar functionality once I can figure out how to do it.

I did not seed the item in the game anywhere, so you will need to use a console code to acquire it. The Form ID is xx00154D and I included a script to place it into your inventory. Please read the wiki entry ( http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Gamebryo_console_commands )for using the console to add items and run batch files, if you are not familiar already.

To install this mod, simply extract the RangeFinder.esp file and the Meshes folder to your Fallout 3's Data directory. Typically this is located at
C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\Data\

You can extract the RangeFinder.txt script to your Fallout 3's root directory and edit the prefix as needed. I'm sorry, but I have not figured out how to remove the requirement for a prefix ID, such as is found in the Desert Eagle mod by Vash. Typically your Fallout 3 root directory is located at
C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\

I will post updates as I continue this project. I have another project I am working on as well, so I get around to things as I can. Thanks =)
