-NEWS-

Major update coming very soon...I'll release it as soon as I'm happy with it!

- - - - -

Uploaded optional "Extra Effects Plugin" that will apply some extra edge AA(although fake) and enable motion blur.

All implemented via an in-game image space modifier so it will work alone, if you so wish.

- - - - -

Uploaded a new, alternative palette with slightly more contrast and less colour-grading. Example pics available in the images tab.

- - - - -

Oh, hai thar!

I'm not really one for fancy/loud/flashy description pages with a bazillion pictures, so I'll try to keep this simple. If you want pics, there is a tab hosting plenty of them...

This here is my ENB config for fallout 3. Appropriate words to describe it would be as follows:

- Cinematic

- Bleak

- Depressing

- Heavy

- Gritty

A big thank you to ncrvet for the video!

Effects added by my ENB Series config include
- Tonemapping/colour-grading via custom colour palette

- Ambient occlusion

- Bokeh Depth of Field

- Lens dirt via custom texture

- Hexagonal lens flare via custom texture

- Vignette(darkening of screen corners)

- Subtle image sharpening

- Panoramic view(black bars at top and bottom of the screen)

- Drastic changes to scene lighting and the sky!

- Motion blur via an optional plugin file

If you wish to use my ENB config, you will need to follow this installation process
1) Visit this page to download the v0.232 ENB Series : LINK

2) Place all files plus the "enbseries" folder from the "Wrapper" version into your Fallout 3 root directory. They should be placed in the same folder as your fallout 3 executables, not your "Data" folder as with most other mods.

3) Download my files and install over the top of what you downloaded and installed in step 1 and 2, overwriting the files when asked.

4) Navigate to [My Documents/My Games/Fallout 3] and make a backup of the "RendererInfo.txt" file. Now delete it.

5) Launch Falout 3 via the official Bethesda launcher. Don't launch the game or FOSE, you need Fallout 3 to create a new RendererInfo.txt.

6) Check your graphics options and screen resolution as everything may be reset to default. When changing your settings, be aware of the following:

- You must have HDR enabled.

- You must turn off or set to minimum the options for
"Antialiasing" and "Anisotropic Filtering"

- You must click on advanced and disable or set to minimum the options for
"Water Displacement" and "Water Multisampling" found under the "Water" tab.

- You must disable the option for
"Transparency Multisampling" found under the "Detail" tab.

Fear not, ENB Series offers solutions for Anti-aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering in the file enblocal.ini

7) When all the above steps have been followed correctly, you may launch the game however you normally would.

Tweaking
ENB Series is all about tweaking for your own tastes/needs. If you don't like a certain effect I'm using in this config, it's easy to either change or disable it. For some effects, I have put notes in the relevant config file(s) to help you find what you should be looking for.

The effects which I expect to be a matter of personal taste can be found in the following files, which can all be found in your Fallout 3 root directory and can be opened and modified with notepad:

- Vignette(darkening of the screen corners): effect.txt

- Panoramic View(black bars):
enbeffect.fx

- Depth of Field: can be disabled in
enbseries.ini or modified in enbeffectprepass.fx

- Noise(fake film grain effect, disabled by default): can be enabled in
effect.txt

I'm using Soulwynd's Bokeh DOF effect in this config, but you can easily change this for a different one if you so wish. There are plenty available for download on the Skyrim Nexus, for example. It's all a matter of personal taste!

The alternative method for tweaking ENB Series is far simpler: Press [SHIFT]+[ENTER] to open a menu. Trouble is, you cannot change everything via this.

You can enable or disable ENB Series altogether by pressing [SHIFT]+[F12].

Performance
Any ENB Series config is going to impact your frame rate. How much so depends on your system and what effects are being used by the config and at what quality level they are implemented.

With this config, I get between 45fps and 58fps(my frame rate cap) on the following system:

- Intel Core i7 950 @3.8GHz

- 12GB Corsair Dominator GT @1.3GHz

- Zotac GTX 660 @stock speeds

- ASUS Rampage III Extreme

- OCZ Vertex 2 SSD

I can't tell you what frame rate you'll get on your rig.

I'd suggest you don't use the memory options offered in enblocal.ini because, for myself at least, they caused my game to be quite unstable.

Sorry, but I have no plans to create a "performance-friendly" version of this. Please don't ask.

Final words
I don't particularly care to hear your opinions of personal taste. If you don't like the visual style I've gone for with this, that's not my problem and your comment will probably be ignored.

There may be graphics glitches here and there that may or may not be caused by the settings I've provided. Some of these problems are caused by ENB Series itself, which I cannot fix for you.

Eat my bleak and accept the fact that some areas may be too bright or too dark. I decided to embrace this artistically.

I'm suffering with health problems right now so expect grumpiness...Think before you post something that's possibly antagonistic because I might end up snapping at you :P

The Credits!
It goes without saying(though I will say it!) that this config would not be possible without the following amazing people:

- Boris Vorontsov, for being the genius who created ENB Series!

-
Matso, for the "Panoramic View" effect!

-
soulwynd, for the brilliant "Tweakable DoF and Bokeh" effect!

-
The users of the Fallout 3 Nexus, for your kind and encouraging comments on my images of this config that made me actually finish it and not shove it on the WIP shelf with the nine million other mods I've got there :P
