BUG REPORTING / FEEDBACK (General)

To everyone who wants to help make my mods run as smooth and bug free as possible.

Please throw as much feedback to me on every little thing that looks bugged or out of place, as all this will assist me in making the mod run as smooth and bug free as possible :0)

As I always say: A mod is only as good as the feedback from its users ^^

Things I'm mainly looking for:
  • In combat: Does the actors' combat behavior in a negative way appear to stray from that of the actor it replaces?
  • Are actors set as "dead" or "inactive" by default, in any way distorted or misplaced?
  • Do the actors properly navigate obstacles, or do they appear to get stuck more often than the actors they replace?
  • Are you able to properly interact or open dialog with actors and objects this mod replace or add to the game world?
  • Shifting textures, When coming across actors or objects that are effect by the mod, do texture surfaces appear to "flicker" or sporadically shift?
  • Any kind of distortion or floating parts?
  • Confirmed reports of conflicts between my mod and other mods will also be a big help.

Some or maybe even none of the above will be relevant to the mod in question and it's not in any way to say that I'm not interested in getting reports of anything not on the list, it is just some of the more common ones and I say again, any feedback on bugs or errors will be much appreciated.

Reporting
To begin with people can report any problems they might experience, in the "Comments" section of the mod.

But have I not in one way or another responded to the report, or the problem hasn't solved itself within 24 hours from posting the report, please feel more then welcome to PM me directly, as I at times experience not getting pinged by Nexus when comments have been posted on my mod.

"Two hundred years after the Great War, a Chinese Remnant
still resides somewhere in the ruins of Washington, DC.

Composed of ghoulified pre-War soldiers loyal to the People's
Republic of China, the Remnant is oblivious to the fact that its
original mission of espionage has become rather pointless in the
aftermath of the Great War.

As a result, the soldiers have occupied a processing plant since
2077 and fiercely defend it against all intruders."

1 ).
DESCRIPTION:

------------------------------------------------------------
  • MAIN FILES:
This Mod will continue the theme that I started in my Anchorage mod "Anchorage - Reinforced Chinese Infantry", where I used the amazing equipment from the "Kerberos Gear _Chinese Heavy Armor" mod, as a replacer for the Chinese infantry loadout.

Ghoul Remnants of the Wasteland will now be wearing battle scared versions of the armors from the previous mod.

    Feature:
This mod will replace all the armors and Chinese assault rifles of the vanilla Chinese remnants found in the processing plant.

Furthermore it will also replaces the outfits of the two Chinese spies located somewhere in the great Wasteland (Or maybe underneath it)
  • OPTIONAL FILES:
"Remnants of a War - Armors of Anchorage"

This mod will add the following items found in the "Anchorage - Reinforced Chinese Infantry" mod, to containers located in the same area as the Remnants:

    1x Chinese General's Combat Armor
    1x Chinese General's Combat Armor - Winterized
3x Chinese Inferno Armor - Winterized
5x Chinese Combat Rifle (Will respawn)

This mod is completely independent from the main files and can be used on it's own if so desired.
  • MISCELLANEOUS FILES:
"Back to Anchorage - Remnants of a War v1 - WIP"

This .ESP is a plugin for Coleen's WIP mod "Back to Anchorage", which will replace all of the Ghoul Remnants loadout in her mod to match the ones from my mods.

The requirements for this .ESP is both my "Remnants of a War" and Coleen's "Back to Anchorage".

____________________________________________________________

2 ).
IMPORTANT:

------------------------------------------------------------
  • Both locations are considered spoilers of the vanilla game and will not be revealed by myself, so don't ask.

Also please respect my wishes and do not post any such info in the comment section of this mod.
  • Though this mod primarily consists of all needed files, it still requires you to have the meshes and textures from the "Kerberos Gear _Chinese Heavy Armor" mod installed, it should however be noted that the mod is not set as a master for my .ESP, this is in case anyone for some strange reason should not be interested in using the "Kerberos Gear _Chinese Heavy Armor" mod.

If this is the case all you need to do is install the "Kerberos Gear _Chinese Heavy Armor" mod and then only "tick" my .ESP in the mod selection menu.
  • Please note that only one type of armor is available for female characters.
  • No matter which of the armors from this mod is equipped, they will all have an identical look, which is a tarnished version of the original female "Chinese Heavy Armor" from the "Kerberos Gear _Chinese Heavy Armor" mod.

____________________________________________________________

3 ).
REQUIREMENTS:

------------------------------------------------------------

This mod requires the amazing "Kerberos Gear _Chinese Heavy Armor" mod which can be found here:
"Kerberos Gear _Chinese Heavy Armor"

Note: You need to download and install both the main file and the file called "Tumbajamba_s remodel" for my .ESP to work.

"Back to Anchorage - Remnants of a War v1 - WIP" also requires Coleen's "Back to Anchorage" mod, which can be found here:
"Back to Anchorage"

4 ).
INSTALLATION (General):

------------------------------------------------------------
Just in case someone don't know how to do this.

Manual Install:
  • Download
  • Extract the .ESP and files to the "Data" directory of Fallout3.
  • Activate the .ESP by "ticking" it in the mod selection window.
  • Done

FOMM Install:
  • Download
  • Create a folder with the mod name and place any .ESP / .ESM along with "Textures" and "Meshes" folders (If any) inside it. (Creating a mod folder is of cause only necessary if the download doesn't already include such a folder. Should the download contain a folder with the name "DATA" I'd suggest renaming this folder to the name of the mod instead).
  • Zip the folder containing the files and place the Zip on the desktop for easy access.
  • Open FOMM and click the button that says "Package Manager".
  • In the new window click the button that says "Add FOMod".
  • Located the Zip you just made and double click it.
  • Once the "Package Manager" is done building the "FOMod", located the mod you just added in the list of mods shown in the "Package Manager" window, once located double click it to install.
  • When the "Package Manager" has completed the install close the "Package Manager" window.
  • If the mod you just installed requires a specific load order, remember to double check the mod list in the FOMM main window, to make sure the mod is in the right place.
  • Done

5 ).
LOAD ORDER:

------------------------------------------------------------
As mentioned above this mod doesn't have any masters (besides FO3 ofc), so any load order will do.

"Back to Anchorage - Remnants of a War v1 - WIP" will ofc require Coleen's "Back to Anchorage".

CHANGE LOG:

------------------------------------------------------------
2011-01-31 - 15:17
New file: Remnants of a War v2 - Part2 - (File Download Link Fixed)

Do to an internal error on Nexus side, the link to the "Remnants of a War v2 - Part2" download, had somehow been corrupted, so clicking on the file to download it, would instead redirect the link to the "Remnants of a War v2 - Part3" files, this should now have been corrected :0)

A thanks goes to member Arjy Yu for spotting and reporting the issue to me :0)

---------------------------------
2010-10-13 - 19:55
NEW File - "Back to Anchorage - Remnants of a War v1 - WIP"
A new "Miscellaneous" file has been made available, with the name "Back to Anchorage - Reinforced Infantry v1 - WIP".

---------------------------------
2010-10-10 - 21:16
Do to an error in the upload of the "Remnants of a War v2 - Part3", as I changed the name of the download to remove the "WIP" part, I was forced to delete the upload and re-upload it anew, sorry for the inconvenience >.

---------------------------------
2010-10-10 - 17:29
MIRROR TEST - Do to huge problems with uploading the files here in the "Files" section, I have made 4 mirrors as test, please leave some feedback on whether or not they function as intended :0)

---------------------------------
2010-10-10 - 00:45
NEW File - "Remnants of a War - Armors of Anchorage v2 - WIP"
This is a fixed version of the first upload.

This mod will add a few copies of the gear implemented in the "Anchorage - Reinforced Chinese Infantry" mod, to some of the stashes in the same area as the Remnants.

---------------------------------
2010-10-09 - 21:57
NEW File - "Remnants of a War - Armors of Anchorage - WIP"
This mod will add 1 of each of the General armors and 3 of the Inferno armors implemented in the "Anchorage - Reinforced Chinese Infantry" mod, along with 5 copies of the rifle from the same mod.

Items will be located in the same area as the Remnants.

---------------------------------
2010-10-09 - 21:38
NEW File - "Remnants of a War v2"
v2 includes the previous mentioned bug fix and most importantly an additional armor "Chinese Inferno Armor" which, like the one from "Anchorage - Reinforced Chinese Infantry", is based on "Tumbajamba_s remodel" version.

The new armor will also be in a tarnished version like the other armors of the mod.

____________________________________________________________

7 ).
POTENTIAL CONFLICTS:

------------------------------------------------------------
Any other mod that make changes to the Chinese remnants' loadout.

8 ).
MISC. NOTES:

------------------------------------------------------------
  • Please be aware that though the armors and weapons have changed in appearance, the statistics for the items have not.

They still use the base stats from the vanilla gear they have replaced.

This was done because I didn't want to fiddle with the balance of the game.

The weak AR of the armors I will justify by the fact that the armors have been so weakened by radiation, wear and tear over the years, that their protective properties have greatly diminished.

So even though they may look like heavy protective gear, over 200 years since they left the Chinese factories, this is no longer the case.
  • Special repair lists have been created for the items in this mod.

    -Armors:
These will, besides them being able to repair each other, also be able to be repaired by the same armors as the vanilla "Combat Armor" series.

    -Helmets:
These will, besides them being able to repair each other, also be able to be repaired by the same helmets as the vanilla "Combat Helmet" series.

    -Weapons:
These will, besides them being able to repair each other, also be able to be repaired by the same weapons as the vanilla "Chinese Assault Rifles" series.
  • Furthermore it should be noted that the changes to these armors and weapons are only local, items found in the rest of the Wasteland have not changed.

CREDITS:

------------------------------------------------------------
Full credits for these amazing armors goes to AnOneTwo, Baelkin and Tumbajamba.

Extra Special thanks goes to AnOneTwo, for creating an amazing looking set of retextures specifically designed for this mod, great work m8ie, can't thank you enough.

The meshes included in my upload are only slightly altered version of their armors so can't really take any credit for that one either, other than the time spend on altering them.

Though should there be any problems while using this mod only contact me, as all their models are working as intended and any errors while using my mod is most likely caused by a flaw in my files and has nothing to do with their work.

Also kudos to ElminsterAU for his awesome FO3Edit program, which was the soul tool used to create the .ESP.

Also kudos to the creators of NifSkope, which was the program I used for the alterations of the armors.

OWNERSHIP:

------------------------------------------------------------
To re-use any of these meshes and textures, or any parts of the meshes, in your own public mod, you'll need to contact AnOneTwo for permission first, this includes any meshes and textures altered by me, as these are all based on the content of his mod.

If permission is granted always remember to give credits to the creators of the parts used.

The .ESPs from my mod are free to be altered and / or re-used without my permission.
