In this mod I've rejiggered all seven alien Force Field Generators found throughout Mothership Zeta's Living Quarters level so that anyone who's earned the Xenotech perk can deactivate, pick up, place, and reactivate them anywhere they like. It seemed like such a waste you couldn't do anything more with them in the game.

HOW IT WORKS:

1) Upon activating a Portable Alien Force Field Generator a message box will give you the option of disabling the device.

2) Once disabled the device will be replaced with a Force Field Pad which is similar to the otherwise unused alien clipboards found throughout the ship. Activating the Force Field Pad gives you the option of deploying the Force Field Generator or adding the Force Field Pad to your Misc inventory.

3) You can then drop the Force Field Pad from your inventory anywhere you want and using the [Z] key you can grab and move the Force Field Pad into exact position. The pointed bottom end of the Pad indicates the direction the Force Field will face upon activation.

CONSOLE CODES:

Force Field Pad xx000EA6 (Mine turned out to be 3b000ea6 and I found that out using the console command gbo on the Pad laying on the ground)
Give yourself the Xenotech perk for experimental purposes only: player.addperk xx00ABB0

PROS:

There are no meshes or textures to DL.

ISSUES:

I haven't adjusted the strength of the Force Field Generators in any way so you may be disappointed when they blow up after a few enemy hits.

While they stop bullets and lasers enemies are able to slip through the force fields after a short struggle.

Force field is really two words.

CREDITS:

I knew there was a Friendly Portable Turrets And Sandbags mod out there somewhere but I didn't look at it before starting this mod. Once I hit the wall though I gave it a peek. A look at daformat's script helped immensely though I still did it my way. Thank you.
