About this mod

A very large (like a DLC), very hard Adventure mod with lots of puzzles, battles, dialogue, the works! Many, many hours of play.

Permissions and credits
(June 2013)

I have uploaded the latest version of Underground City. This version adds much enrichment and fixes many bugs as well as adds some new levels. If you have played UC before or use UC as a trading town, you will want to get this version. If you have never played UC, well, what are you waiting for? It's big and it's fun and it's free!

NOTES:

---- BY POPULAR DEMAND ----

I have just uploaded a Walk Through for Underground City version 1.3. The file is a 7Zip archive of an MS Word Document. It is 17 pages long and took me a week to compile. Please do not read it unless you want to spoil the game for yourself. It has a table of contents so that you may lookup just the sections you need to get you past any puzzles that you cannot solve any other way.

If you download and play this mod, please post some comments about what you liked or didn't like about it, any bugs/glitches you may have found, and any suggestions for content you would like to see added, especially regardig the ending. If you like it, don't be shy about endorsing it or even voting for it for File of the Month!

Underground City is a difficult mod. If you also run FWE & MMM Increased (or Increased Increased) spawns, you may find it close to impossible.

To start the adventure, seek out Gonzalo Ruiz in Megaton on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday. In the event that Megaton has been blown up, you can seek out Mr. Ruiz in Big Town.

INTRODUCTION:
Before the war, there was a top-secret underground military base inhabited by the Army Corps of Engineers (ACE). Its primary function was to act as a research and testing facility for the Army's latest military technology. The base was buried so deep beneath the surface of the earth, that it survived the war intact. As time went by, the remaining inhabitants dug out and built Underground City as a safe haven from the desolation on the surface. Generation after generation lived within the safety of Underground City and the knowledge of the base and its contents was mostly lost save for its legend.

Now the inhabitants of the City are being besieged by ferocious beasts and a band of cut-throat raiders. The Lone Wanderer has been hired to clear the path to the surface such that the residents may once again engage in free-trade with the other cities of the capitol wasteland.

Help the residents with their attackers, befriend the city's residents. Gain their trust by aiding them in many side quests. Learn of the legend of the old base and set out to discover its secrets.

To install this mod, simply extract all files to your Fallout3\Data directory. Then select UNDCity from FOMM and start the game. This mod was intended as an alternate beginning after leaving Vault 101. It is intended for characters below level 5. You can expect to level up 10-15 times before finishing this mod, depending on your starting level. Entrance to the Mod is gained by talking with Gonzalo Ruiz in Megaton on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday. In the event that Megaton has been blown up, you can seek out Mr. Ruiz in Big Town.

Also, this mod requires FOSE and ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated to work properly. Please see the ReadMe for further details. You may view the ReadMe by looking in the main archive file or by clicking the "View ReadMe" link above this description.

There is a new radio station in this mod. All music is both over 50 years old and within the public domain.

Known Issues:

Perks Collector - The Mechinist perk will prevent dialogue with the many talking robots in UC.(Ryushikaze)
Better Living Through Chems - This mod overwrites the original cigarette cartons with a scripted version that will mess up one quest in UC. (rickerhk)

Bug Fixes:

- Fixes a problem with Franny's quest where you could get the quest objective after completeing the quest by talking to Mac or Sion.
- Fixes a problem where equipping the ACE power armor could cause a CTD if other mods were loaded that overwrite the default model files for the T-51b power armor.
- Fixed a problem with UC apples where if the player ate one, his Health would become permanently locked.

UC_Update_1 - This file has been removed. UC_Update_2 has replaced it.
