I've put up an esm version of the mod, so that it is easier to merge the mod with other mods in GECK.

Somehow it slipped my mind that the menu item should be made a quest object so that it would not be lost easily. This is fixed in v1.1



Update 2010-3-7

Version 1.0 is finally out!! Added an interactive menu to add/remove weapons and change keys. Also, discovered that the mod will NOT spoil save games permanently. If you are not happy with it, simply remove the esp and the game should fix itself back.

Hello and Welcome to my fist mod !!

Adds the Hold Breath feature you can use to steady sniper aims.
If you play CoD you know what I mean.
Basically it allows you to sharpen your aim for a brief period of time.

You cannot hold breath
1) immediately after taking a shot.
2) immediately after releasing your last held breath

The maximum duration you are allowed to hold your breath is about 6 seconds.

If you are forced out of air you will not be able to hold your breath again for a short while.

I would strongly recommed using this mod with autoaim remover mods like this one.
No point taking the time to aim if the bullet's not gonna fly straight eh?
Bloody console systems...

Note: this mod does not make sniping easier. It simply tries to make it more realistic and by that it usually means harder.





Technical Info

How to use:
While aiming hold down the assigned key to steady aim. Default is Q.
There doesn't seem to be a simple way to display non-numerical variables in-game. Check this page for what the scancodes mean.

Gun wobbling without aim steadying is dramatically increased. This is only true if you're equipping a sniper. Snipers could be assigned using the in-game menu.

****WARNING****
This Mod makes permanent changes to some game setting values.
Best efforts have been made to restore them as much as possible upon uninstallion, but rare failures may occur.

Please follow uninstallation procedures EXACTLY (found in the Readme file).






Known Issues / Plans for the future

I've made sure the basic functionality is there but fine tuning will have to wait until next time.
Sorry but this is my first time using the GECK for anything serious so there's still a lotta stuff I don't know how to do yet.
In the mean time do tell me about what other bugs are there or what improvements you think will be cool !

-Only the male voice acting is ready for now, and even so it is of pretty lousy quality.
The sounds now are for testing only. I will fix them in later patches.

-The key (Q) I use clashes with the default key for autorun. Please reassign your autorun key for now.
I will add the ability to reassign the hold breath key in the future.

-Right now it only works for the three vanilla snipers (standard issue, Victory and Reservist).
Obviously this won't do for a lot of people as sniper rifle mods are so common.

I'll try to think of a way to incorporate new guns in-game.
Making seperate patches for each add-on just seems too troublesome.


-If you have tried the mod you will probably agree that the steadying pattern will not work too well for all those automatic snipers out there.
Please give some suggestions on that.
