Old friends, New leaders

Amata, the new Overseer of Vault 101, observe the vault's atrium from the round window of the Overseer's office, along with her old friend, the Supreme Commander Charlotte. Her heart was filled with pride, seeing how her citizens were living in peace and harmony.

The Commander has the exact same feeling when she visits Poseidonis, the magnificent city under the sea.

The leader of the biggest military organization in the Capital Wasteland was in the same room as the leader of the same place that was once her home... 

The two lifetime friends were together again.

Amata :"...really, Lottie, you have to bring me to that spaceship of yours one day."

Commander: "You know the rules: one year of service in our army, and you can ascend to the Olympus. That's how things work in the TSC."

A: "Yeah, yeah, I know, the army, the Ascension, and all that. It's not like I could ever be a soldier anyway: I'm not good with guns, and I get tired after running only a mile. I heard the TSC training routines are tough.

C: "You don't know the half of it, Amata. I remember the first time I personally tested the TSC Army Training during the newly inaugurated "Soldiers and Commanders Day". Unfortunately, it also happened to be the "12 mile run" day.
I swear Brigadier Karpov scheduled both events on the same day on purpose just to prank me... like when Schmidt put a thumbtack on my office chair. It was to "test my attention", he said.
Yeah, right... Just how old is he???

Anyway, as I was saying - needless to say, it wasn't pretty. At all. Not even the extremely comfy TSC army boots couldn't save me from pain and soreness. At the end of the run I just wanted to take them off and relax. I was exhausted.

Thank goodness we have the best foot masseurs and masseuses in Poseidonis. Those massages felt so good after that brutal marathon... Ahhhh..."

(Charlotte closed her eyes in a blissful expression)

A: "Hey, when you're done daydreaming, tell me more about Poseidonis... your underwater Utopia. Do I have to join the army to enter there too?"

C: "Oh sorry, I was mentally reliving the rest of that day: cozy sofa, soft slippers and relaxing music... it was just beautiful...
(snaps back from daze) Anyway, no, you don't have to become a soldier, but you still need to earn the right to become a citizen through particular merits. Actually, I'd say it's even harder to access Poseidonis rather than the Olympus.
Hmm... Maybe, just maybe, I can manage to get you a special permission for a short visit some day."

A: "Looking forward to it, Lottie. I heard that there's a shop that sells beautiful dresses, and also a bar that plays bagpipe music?"

C: "Yes... bagpipes. Ugh. I'd almost rather do that run again rather than hear those bagpipes again. Almost."
