Hi! This is just a note to say that I don't have a lot of time on my hands nowadays, and so I don't get many chances to monitor my mods. Or work on them, or do requests, or help with questions, or anything like that at this stage. My apologies. But feel free to use my mods as you wish, within reasonable use of course, all I ask is that you credit me. Thank you, and I hope the mods I chose to make and share with you help you enjoy your gaming experience :)

Arcane Weapons allows you to choose from several arcane swords with different appearance models to add into Hawke's inventory. The swords function like staffs, but look like swords (and a battleaxe in one case). The readme included in each download lists all the console commands for each sword, regardless of which erf file is downloaded.

NOTE: Due to a request, I made a version of the Vigilance Arcane sword with alternate stats, namely the physical damage has been changed to spirit damage. If this interests you, and you have downloaded one of the Vigilance Arcane sword files from Arcane Weapons, and wish to use the Alternate Stats versions of the weapons, remove the old file before installing into your override. They will conflict with the non-alternate stats versions if placed in the override folder together.

IMPORTANT: There are three versions of these swords, which are the versions under the main file section which are very overpowered, as indeed legendary blades should be for fun, and there are the less powerful versions in the miscellaneous section. They are still overpowered, just less so. NOW there are also the Normal level versions, which I made as an attempt to make even less powerful weapons. At the beginning of the game, they should deal about 5 physical damage, and they will level with you, so they are still strong, just not gamebreaking hopefully, although please tell me if this is the case and I may be able to lower the level even more.

If you want OVERPOWERED GODLY weapons to get you through battles quicker, then download the versions in the MAIN FILE section.

If you want overpowered but NOT QUITE SO GODLY weapons, then download the LESS POWERFUL Versions in the MISCELLANEOUS section. Still very very powerful, just less insanely than the main file versions.

If you prefer strong but still more NORMAL LEVEL weapons, then download the NORMAL LEVEL VERSION weapons in the OPTIONAL Section.

NOTE FOR EMPHASIS: THE MAIN FILE WEAPONS ARE GODLY AND MOSTLY FOR FUN!!!

USE THE LESS POWERFUL VERSIONS IF YOU WANT LESS INSANELY OP , BUT STILL VERY POWERFUL WEAPONS

TRY OUT THE NORMAL LEVEL VERSIONS IF YOU WANT WEAPONS AT A MORE REASONABLE LEVEL

And please, if these are also too powerful, please tell me. I have received feedback telling me the swords are OP, as indeed they are intended to be, but the comments are not specific to which versions they mean. I made the versions in the Main file section as godly weapons for fun, and I also made the less powerful versions for people who want the swords to be very strong but don't want god weapons. The Normal weapons are meant to be much less powerful, more like in game weapons (though still strong) but if you try them out and find that they are still too strong, inform me and I can make versions at even lower levels if necessary.

When setting the stats for either overpowered or less powerful weapons, I look at what actual in-game weapons have and what other modders have done and use them as a template, but it's an imprecise method. But I tried to make the less powerful versions quite low leveled compared to the main file ones. Not as low leveled as the random loot weapons or starting weapons, I wanted them to be worth having, but still, they are meant to be much less powerful, not insanely OP. Again, please tell me if this is not the case, because they seem to be fine in my game but people have different opinions of what makes good levels, and play on different difficulty settings too of course. I imagine that is a factor. The Normal level weapons are meant to be strong but more like in game weapons, so please, again, let me know if this is not the case.

UPDATE: After recieving more feedback, I have now made a much, much less powerful version (or at least I hope it will be) of all the swords, so that you can have these sword appearances but not have weapons stronger than in game. At least that's what I hope to be able to make. THese versions are set to a much lower level, and have fewer stats so hopefully they will be much less powerful whilst not being totally useless. These Normal Level Versions can be found in the Optional section.

You can also use both the normal (powerful) and the less powerful versions in your game with the Normal level versions at the same time without conflict. Apart from being more or less powerful depending on which version you use, the stats for the Arcane Weapons are the same. I was only really interested in providing different options for Arcane Weapons based on appearance, not stats, which I think are okay without needing to be tweaked for the simple sake of variety. I also didn't really have the time to go and slightly change the stats for each weapon, nor the inclination for that matter. The normal level swords have less enchantments and lower stats however.

Just so you know:
Any Arcane Sword, when equipped, is flipped so that the blade comes over Hawke's shoulder and the handle is at his/her back. This isn't a glitch, its just how the sword model 'fits' itself to the staff... that wasn't really a great way to describe it, and I don't really understand it myself, since making this was pretty much trial and error. But this way, it works with the staff animations so that when Hawke reaches for the arcane sword, he/she grasps it by the handle. If it were right way up, Hawke would grasp it by the blade. If you don't like the way it looks, then
I recommend the mod 'Hide Weapons 2' by DarkenDE, found here:

http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/2150/

This mod gives you the options to hide some or all of your weapons when out of combat. If you don't mind drawing your weapoons from thin air (which I personally kind of love, it's like a Kingdom Hearts flashback), then I reccommend using this. It also makes a lot of cutscenes a lot
better without arrows or weapon handles sticking over your shoulder, blocking the face of whoever you're trying to talk to. There's a few different versions so you can hide all weapons or just certain ones, like hiding just bows, or hiding only staffs, which would also hide arcane swords.

Feel free to upload screenshots, and please ask for assistance or let me know about any problems.
Also, please leave a comment and/or endorse my mod if you like this! It makes me happy.

The weapon models currently available as arcane weapons in this mod version are:

Vigilance Arcane Greatsword

Starfang Arcane Sword

Starfang Arcane Greatsword

Edge of Song and Glory Arcane Sword

Her Song Arcane Greatsword

All-Fall Arcane Battleaxe

And I also re-included:

Vigilance Arcane Sword (from my mod 'Vigilance Weapons')

To get any of the Arcane Weapons in game:

1) Download the desired weapon file.
2) Unzip it and place the erf file into your override folder
3) In game, open the developer console, type the console code, and press enter. You can get all the weapons, but the erf file for each weapon must be in your override folder, and each console code must be added individually.

These are the console codes for all the arcane weapons in the normal (powerful) version 1.0:

Vigilance Arcane Greatsword:

runscript vigil_arcanegreat

Vigilance Arcane Sword:

runscript vigil_arcanesword

Starfang Arcane Sword:

runscript star_arcanesword

Starfang Arcane Greatsword:

runscript star_arcanegreat

Edge of Song and Glory Arcane Sword:

runscript edge_arcanesword

Her Song Arcane Greatsword:

runscript hersong_arcanesword

All-Fall Arcane Battleaxe:

runscript allfall_arcaneaxe

These are the console codes for all the arcane weapons in the Less Powerful version 1.0 (the lp stands for Less Powerful):

Vigilance Arcane Greatsword:

runscript vigil_arcanegreat_lp

Vigilance Arcane Sword:

runscript vigil_arcanesword_lp

Starfang Arcane Sword:

runscript star_arcanesword_lp

Starfang Arcane Greatsword:

runscript star_arcanegreat_lp

Edge of Song and Glory Arcane Sword:

runscript edge_arcanesword_lp

Her Song Arcane Greatsword:

runscript hersong_arcanesword_lp

All-Fall Arcane Battleaxe:

runscript allfall_arcaneaxe_lp

Once enter is pressed, you should get a pop-up message to indicate that the sword has been added to your inventory.

Have fun with it!

NOTES
==============================
+ I made this mod to fulfill a request for an arcane sword similar to the one included in my other weapons mod, Vigilance Weapons, but with a greatsword Vigilance model instead of a longsword model. Then to flesh the mod out a little, I decided to make a few more arcane swords for variety. And for funzies.
+ I am open to making arcane swords with other appearances if I can do it. Model availability is subject to the uti strings I have in my base game. I have all the story-based DLC, but not the weapons packs, so I don't think I can use any unique weapons models that come from these packs. Base game models are the best bet if you want to request something.
+ I included the battleaxe as an experiment to see how well it would work; I don't know how using the appearances of bows and daggers and such would look, or if it would work, but if someone makes a request I will try and make an arcane sword using any suggested models, time and resources permitting. Until I know if someone would even want that, I won't spend my time trying, but requests are always welcome.
+ I haven't made an All-In-One version yet just in case anyone requests another model of some other sword, but if I might make one after a while or if there is demand for it. Till then, that's more effort than I'm prepared to put in without interest, I'm afraid.

Requirements:
==============================
Currently, this mod requires that you have the developer console enabled. I am going to try and
make and include rewards files in the future so that your weapon(s) of choice can be added without the console, since some people have trouble making the console work, but I need to figure out which quests will not conflict with the rewards files for my other mod, or figure out if I can somehow add items to store inventories without needing the console. But that will take time I do not currently have. However, if you have trouble with the console, and really, really want a particular sword, feel free to ask me for a rewards file (which will add the weapon you want to your inventory when you complete a particular quest). Make sure to tell me which weapon you want, and where you are in your playthrough so I know which quests I may be able to use, and I will try and get back to you. Not all quests work, I've found, but there should be something to work with.

Hopefully this mod will be interesting to people. Admittedly I haven't done extensive testing on it apart from the original item I made at Satan9's request (Merry Christmas!), so please let me know if there are any problems, and I will try to help and fix it. Otherwise, enjoy!
