Has anyone else noticed that the DA2 elves look like gelflings.. ugly ones?

I actually really liked the original merrill, but i saw someone's blonde version of merrill, that i wanted (except for the hideous make up). so, long story short, i didn't download it; instead i spent all day trying to figure out how to make my own.

here's my blonde version in all of of her sweet
gelfling...ness.
